A Well-Deserved Day Off [ESP/ENG]

During Easter break, we took the opportunity to relax and escape our routine by visiting Negra Hipólita Park, located in the northern part of Valencia, Venezuela. This park is huge and has been around for many years. My husband and I used to go there when we were dating, and we've been married for 45 years now. We also used to take our daughters there when they were little, and we often celebrated the birthdays of other children in the family. But after so many years and with all our responsibilities, we went there in a more relaxed way.
Durante las vacaciones de Semana Santa aprovechamos para ir a descansar un rato y salir de la rutina visitando el parque Negra Hipólita, ubicado en la zona norte de Valencia, en Venezuela. Este parque es super grande y tiene ya muchos años, antes mi esposo y yo íbamos allí cuando éramos novios y ya tenemos 45 años de casados, también llevábamos allí a nuestras hijas cuando eran pequeñas y a menudo celebrábamos los cumpleaños de los niños de la familia. Pero ya después de tantos años y con todas las responsabilidades que tenemos fuimos allí en un plan más relajado.
At first we had settled in the area on the other side of the park while we waited for my youngest daughter to arrive home from work (since she had to work that day), but as soon as she arrived she asked us to move because there was no grass there on which we could put the blanket to have lunch and rest, and yes, haha she was right 😄
Al Principio nos habíamos puesto en la zona del otro lado del parque mientras esperábamos a que llegara mi hija menor del trabajo (ya que a ella le tocó trabajar ese día) pero en cuanto ella llegó nos pidió que nos moviéramos de sitio porque allí no había pasto sobre el cuál pudiéramos poner la manta para almorzar y descansar, y sí, jaja tenía razón 😄
But while I waited for my daughter to arrive, I took the opportunity to collect a lot of mangoes, haha, because that's my favorite fruit and there are plenty of mango trees in that park. Obviously, the park rangers protect the area very well and don't allow people to throw rocks or sticks at the trees to try to knock the fruit down, because it could be dangerous, but they do allow you to pick all the ones that are already on the ground.
Pero mientras mi hija llegaba yo aproveché para recolectar muchos mangos, jaja es que esa es mi fruta favorita y en ese parque abundan los árboles de mango. Obviamente los guarda parques protegen muy bien el lugar y no permiten que la gente arroje piedras o palos a los árboles para tratar de bajar als frutas, porque podría ser peligroso, pero si te permiten agarrar todos los que ya estén en el suelo.
When we found an area where we would be comfortable, we decided to settle there. It had to be an area with grass for the blanket but with areas without grass to place the benches (as suggested by one of the park rangers, since they did not allow putting the benches on the grass). Then we started to take out everything we needed for lunch.
Cuando conseguimos la zona donde estaríamos a gusto decidimos instalarnos allí, debía ser una con pasto para la manta pero con zonas sin pasto para ubicar los banquillos (por sugerencia de una de los guarda parques, ya que no permitían poner los bancos sobre el pasto) Entonces empezamos a sacar todo lo necesario para almorzar.
Of course, we couldn't forget the obligatory photos, haha. Everyone who knows me knows I love photos, and my youngest daughter feels the same way 😄
Tampoco podían faltar las correspondientes fotos, jaja todo el que me conoce sabe que amo las fotos, y así igual que yo es mi hija menor 😄
And finally, after lunch, walking around the park for a while and chatting for a long time with my nieces who also came to the park because of other activities, we settled down to rest for a while. It really is good to get out of the routine from time to time and do different things to relax the mind and body.
Y ya finalmente después de almorzar, recorrer el parque un rato y de conversar largo rato con mis sobrinas que también llegaron allí al parque por causa de otras actividades, nos dispusimos a descansar un rato, de verdad que viene bien de vez en cuando salir de la rutina y hacer cosas diferentes para relajar la mente y el cuerpo.
Well friends, that was our simple day of rest and relaxation. We really had a great time as a family, we forgot about stress and relaxed a lot in the middle of nature and the joy of the children and adults who were engaged in other activities.
Bueno amigos, ese fue nuestro sencillo día de descanso y distracción, realmente la pasamos muy bien como familia, nos olvidamos del estrés y nos relajamos muchísimo en medio de la naturaleza y la alegría de los niños y adultos que se dedicaban a otras actividades.
