My dear Sortario is already experiencing the changes typical of an old puppy, yes the word old many don't like to hear, including me but it's a reality, it's part of life.

You can't imagine the feeling I have when I see him with behaviors that were not his own, but now in his approximate 11 years, I say approximate because I know that many don't know that my puppy is rescued from the street and well we don't know exactly his age, but according to the experts say it's about 11 years old.

Sometimes thoughts come to my mind that my doggy has only a few years left with me, that's why I enjoy him so much and I have given myself the task of making him very happy, I think that will be of great comfort for the day he is no longer with us.

But aha I came to tell you about some changes that we have been able to perceive at home with respect to our mature and beautiful furry.

The energy is not the same:

Sortario was a really fast dog, he has always been a very quiet dog and the neighbors always had to say about him, how quiet he was, because normally young dogs are quite active, but when they saw Sortario running they were impressed by the way he ran and how he jumped over obstacles, well despite his age he still runs but one realizes that his speed is not the same, and that reminds me that it is normal, it seems to me that for his age he still has good energy.

He is holding his urination less:

That is something that is happening more frequently, Sortario always used to urinate in the place we are used to take him to urinate, but now we have to take him out more often, because apparently he can't stand it and sometimes he urinates in the hallways of the building, which he never did, he was not able to urinate even in our house and even less in the hallways, but well we have to adapt to the changes that he is presenting, then I tell myself again and again, Sortario is getting older, I can't treat him the same way.

Sometimes he loses his sense of direction.

I say this because of the following, my furry one most of the time is with me, and being at home, for example in the kitchen, which is his favorite place, suddenly I see him walking around the house looking for me, as if I were not there, I have to call him several times, so that he realizes that I am still there, that has been happening especially this year, that was not normal in him at all, he always knew when I was at home, unless I played hide and seek with him.

His hearing isn't the same anymore:

A sortario I would call him and he would immediately look at me, and I understood that he listened to me, but these days I was surprised, because we were both in the room and I called him, and he started to look for me with his eyes and moved his head everywhere, until he went to where I was, that really left me very thoughtful, before I would call him and he would immediately respond to my call.

All these things don't happen all the time but they are more and more frequent.

His sleep now is deeper:

Sortario was one of those that with any movement I made, he woke up immediately, now he doesn't, sometimes I get up and he doesn't notice until a while later, and he also spends more time sleeping.

And so dear friends of Hivepets, they do change and you have to be very attentive, sometimes you think they will always be the same, but no, they are like us who also change over time, they are losing their agility, sight, smell, etc., etc..

The only thing that doesn't change is their appetite hahahaha, but well that's a very good sign! 😄

The truth is I just hope I have wisdom to keep taking care of him now at this stage, and keep enjoying and loving him a lot! ❤️

Saludos mis amados amigos amantes de las mascotas, espero y se encuentren bien! 😊

Mi querido Sortario ya está experimentando los cambios propios de un perrito viejo, si la palabra viejo a muchos no les gusta escuchar, incluyéndome pero es una realidad, es parte de la vida.

No se imaginan el sentimiento que tengo cuando lo veo con comportamientos que no eran propios de él, pero que ahora en sus 11 años aproximados, digo aproximado porque sé que muchos no saben que mi perrito es rescatado de la calle y bueno no sabemos exactamente su edad, pero según los expertos dicen que son como 11 años.

A veces me vienen pensamientos a mi mente de que mi perrito ya le quedan solo pocos años conmigo, por eso lo disfruto tanto y me he dado a la tarea de que él sea muy feliz, creo que eso será de gran consuelo para el día que ya no esté entre nosotros.

Pero ajá yo vine a contarles sobre algunos cambios que hemos podido percibir en casa con respecto a nuestro maduro y hermoso peludo.

La energía no es la misma:

Sortario era un perro realmente veloz, él siempre ha sido un perrito muy tranquilo y siempre los vecinos tenían que decir de él, lo tranquilo que era, pues normalmente los perros jóvenes son bastante activos, pero eso si cuando veían a Sortario correr se quedaban impresionados por su manera de correr y de cómo saltaba obstáculos, bueno todavía a pesar de su edad corre pero uno se da cuenta que ya su velocidad no es la misma, y eso me recuerda que es normal, más bien me parece que para su edad todavía mantiene buena energía.

Aguanta menos las ganas de orinar:

Eso es algo que está sucediendo con más frecuencia, Sortario siempre se orinaba en el lugar que tenemos por costumbre llevarlo para que orine, pero ahora hay que sacarlo con más frecuencia, porque al parecer no aguanta y en algunas ocasiones se orina en los pasillos del edificio, cosa que no hacía, él no era capaz de orinarse ni en nuestra casa y menos en los pasillos, pero bueno tenemos que irnos adaptando a los cambios que él va presentando, entonces me digo una y otra vez, Sortario está envejeciendo, no lo puedo tratar igual.

A veces pierde el sentido de orientación:

Digo esto por lo siguiente, mi peludo la mayoría del tiempo está conmigo, y estando en casa, por ejemplo en la cocina, que es su lugar preferido, de repente lo veo dando vueltas por la casa buscándome, como si yo no estuviera, tengo que llamarlo varias veces, para que se percate que aún estoy allí, eso ha estado sucediendo sobre todo este año, eso no era normal en el para nada, el siempre sabia cuando yo estaba en casa, a menos que jugara con él a las escondidas.

Su audición ya no es la misma:

A sortario yo lo llamaba y enseguida el me miraba, y yo entendía que me escuchaba, pero en estos días me quede sorprendida, porque estábamos los dos en el cuarto y yo lo llame, y el empezó a buscar con su mirada y movía su cabecita para todos lados, hasta que fue a donde yo estaba, eso la verdad me dejo muy pensativa, antes yo le llamaba y enseguida respondía a mi llamado.

Todas estas cosas no pasan siempre pero cada vez son más frecuentes.

Su sueño ahora es más profundo:

Sortario era de los que con cualquier movimiento que yo hiciera, en seguida se despertaba, ahora no, a veces me levanto y no se percata sino al rato, y tambien pasa más tiempo durmiendo.

Y así queridos amigos de Hivepets, ellos si van cambiando y hay que estar muy pendientes, a veces uno piensa que van a ser iguales siempre, pero no, son como nosotros que también vamos cambiando con el tiempo, ellos van perdiendo su agilidad, la vista, el olfato, etc., etc.

Lo único que no cambia es su apetito jajajaja, pero bueno eso es muy buena señal! 😄

Lo cierto es que solo espero tener sabiduría para seguirlo cuidando ahora en esta etapa, y seguirlo disfrutando y amando mucho! ❤️
