In the apartment building where I live, each apartment has a small space for a garden or vegetable patch.

My husband and I decided to have a mini-garden where the main plants would be useful to us. We can make infusions from these plants; for example, we can use the Mexican oregano (Plectranthus amboinicus) when we have stomach aches, and it's also highly recommended for sleeping well. We also have the oregano with very small leaves, the kind we commonly use to season some dishes; its scientific name is Origanum vulgare. Another plant we decided to have in our garden is one we commonly call spider plant, although it has other names, such as ribbon plant, which I like better! Its scientific name is Chlorophytum comosum. I've used this plant in salads and green juices; it has a bitter taste, but many say it has anti-cancer properties.

• En la residencia donde vivo, cada apartamento tiene un espacio pequeño para un jardín o huerto.

• Mi esposo y yo decidimos tener un mini huerto en dónde las plantas principales nos fueran útiles, de esas plantas podemos hacer infusiones, por ejemplo, el Orégano Orejón, cuyo nombre científico es(plectranthus amboinicus) lo podemos usar cuando sentimos dolor de estómago, además lo recomiendan mucho, para dormir bien, tenemos también el orégano de hojas muy pequeñitas, ese que usamos comúnmente para sazonar algunos platos, su nombre científico viene siendo (Origanum Vulgare) otra planta que decidimos tener en nuestro huerto es una a la que comúnmente llamamos, mala madre, aunque hay otras formas de llamarle como por ejemplo, Lazo de amor, este nombre me gusta más! Pero su nombre científico es (Chlorophytum Comosum), está planta la he usado para ensaladas y jugos verdes, su sabor es amargo, pero muchos dicen que tiene propiedades anticancerígenas.

In addition to the plants I've mentioned, we've also planted cherry tomato seeds, and today we had our first harvest. That's always great news—eating what we've harvested! The tomatoes are very small, and we'll enjoy them in a nutritious salad I plan to make, combining them with spinach or perhaps spider plants. I'll see what I can come up with to do with these beautiful mini tomatoes.

• Además de estas plantas que he mencionado también hemos sembrado semillas de tomatitos Cherry y hoy tuvimos nuestra primera cosecha, eso siempre es una noticia genial, comer de lo que hemos cosechado, los tomatitos son muy pequeñitos y los disfrutaremos en una nutritiva ensalada que pienso hacer combinándolo con espinaca o tal vez con, Lazo de amor, ya veré que se me ocurre hacer con estos hermosos mini tomates

When I see the plants in our garden laden with fruit or flowers, I feel great joy, because plants are life; they need to be watered, pruned at the right time, and some love the sun, while others can only tolerate it. ☺️

• Cuando veo las plantas de nuestro huerto cargadas de alguna fruta o de flores siento gran alegría, pues las plantas son vida, hay que regarlas, cortarlas en el momento preciso, y hay algunas que aman el sol, Pero hay otras que medio lo pueden ver ☺️

Now our garden is being renewed; some plants are drying up, there were seeds that never bore fruit, for example the black bean, it started to grow but suddenly dried up, the hot chili plant that gave us so much fruit has also said goodbye, but the one that never stops blooming is a small rose, a rose that my mother gave me and from there many more have come, they decorate the garden, they make it look beautiful, and they have also decorated my table.

• Ahora nuestro huerto se está renovando, algunas plantas se están secando, hubo semillas que nunca dieron fruto, por ejemplo la alubia negra, empezó a crecer pero de repente se secó, la planta de ají picante que tanto fruto nos dio también ha dicho adiós, pero la que nunca deja de florecer, es una pequeña rosa, una rosa que me regaló mi madre y de allí han salido muchas más, ellas decoran el huerto, lo hace ver hermoso, y también han decorado mi mesa.

We will continue sowing; in every sowing there is hope for new life, new fruits. We will continue to see plants that wither, but others that bear fruit and remain green and beautiful. For today, I am happy with our little tomatoes. Yes, it has been a very small harvest, but there is always a gain! 🥳

• Seguiremos sembrando, en cada siembra hay esperanza de nueva vida, nuevos frutos, seguiremos viendo plantas que se secan, Pero otras que dan su fruto y se mantienen verdes y hermosas, por hoy estoy contenta con nuestros tomatitos, si, ha sido una cosecha muy pequeña, ¡pero siempre hay ganancia! 🥳
