St. John's Wort & Immortelle, Autumn 2022, Croatia

This year in Croatia is kind of strange, but positively, even thou I don't remember the last 10 or 20 years & was not making notes about the weather, plants & mushrooms, it still feels strange.

This is the 2nd time this year that St. John's wort & immortelle are flowering. I never before seen or heard from anyone that these 2 medicinal plant are flowering in autumn. But I anyway don't like winter, snow & cold, so I'm really happy that the general temperature in Croatia is rising! This can give us new opportunities of growing different sorts of fruits, especially tropical & to have 2 harvest of medicinal plants, spices & other wild plants & mushrooms.

The next beautiful photo I made in the mountains around 800 m high in the beginning of September, while I was searching for mushrooms - I was really surprised:

Immortelle we were picking in May / June & made macerate with olive oil but I found it again flowering in the end of September:

Helichrysum italicum, September 2022, Punat, Croatia

Both of the plants are medicinal & mostly serve for applying them in the form of macerate on the skin for all kinds of wounds or injuries. Immortelle you can use as a spice in the kitchen & bees can also collect honey from it. St. John's wort also can be used as a tea for curing depression & tension.
