The shapes of the world, created by human inventiveness, have always caught my attention, corners and angular lines are my favorite, because they speak of direction and focus, also of union and cooperation.

The structures that support a building deserve special attention, because they are the skeleton of any construction, and if they are on the outside it seems to me that they become prehistoric animals not yet evolved, alien reptiles.

Las formas del mundo, creadas por la inventiva humana, siempre han llamado mi atención, las esquinas y las líneas angulares son mis preferidas, porque hablan de dirección y enfoque, también de unión y cooperación.

Las estructuras que sostienen un edificio merece especial atención, pues son el esqueleto de toda construcción, y si están por fuera me parece que se convierten en animales prehistóricos aún no evolucionados, reptiles alienígenas.

The way the materials come together is quite a mystery to me, not because of the joining itself, but the unusual activity that derives from whether the materials are compatible with each other, or whether their finishes seem to compete.

Instead it seems like poetry when they look so good together that they seem destined to be. To look and to resemble. They were born for each other. They exchange messages with each other, they seem to speak and tell us their story.

La manera en que los materiales se juntan es todo un misterio para mi, no por la unión propiamente, sino la inusual actividad que deriva de si son compatibles los materiales entre si, o si sus acabados parecen competir.

En cambio parece poesía cuando lucen tan bien juntos que parecen destinados a ser. A parecer y a semejar. Nacieron los unos para los otros. Intercambian mensajes entre si, parecen hablar y nos cuenta su historia.

The spaces that seem to want to take you somewhere, that with their diagonals direct your gaze, are the ones that speak the most, they are expressive and manipulative, they take you where they want. My favorite direction is the sky.

But I also like to look inside, to go through layers of skin, to get to the inside of things.

Los espacios que parece querer llevarte a alguna parte, que con sus diagonales dirigen tu mirada, son las que más hablan, son expresivos y manipuladores, te llevan a donde ellos quieren. Mi dirección favorita es el cielo.

Pero también me gusta mirar hacia adentro, traspasar capas de piel, llegar al interior de las cosas.

But of everything man has created, without a doubt, my favorites are the windows, which after all are the eyes of the house, seen from the inside, we can appreciate our surroundings, seen from the outside, we peek into the soul of the family.

Pero de todo cuando ha creado el hombre, sin duda, mis favoritas son las ventanas, que al final de cuentas son los ojos de las casas, vistas desde adentro, podemos apreciar nuestro entorno, vistas desde afuera, nos asomamos al alma de la familia.

Some are impenetrable, others as diaphanous as the breeze, but all of them connect us with something else, we just have to be attentive to the emergence of the gaze.

Algunas son impenetrables, otras diáfanas como la brisa, pero todas nos conectan con algo más, solo debemos estar atentos al surgir de la mirada.
