Montalbán es un pueblo o ciudad, capital del municipio Montalbán del estado Carabobo que se encuentra ubicado en el occidente del estado (Venezuela); aproximadamente a 10 kilómetros de otro pueblo o ciudad en el que también capturé fotografías de su iglesia y plaza Bolívar, que se encuentra ubicado en el occidente del estado Carabobo y se conoce como Bejuma. Tenía más de treinta años sin ir a Montalbán, logré visitarlo y capturé fotografías de su iglesia y de la plaza Bolívar que se encuentra ubicada enfrente.
Montalbán is a town or city, capital of the Montalbán municipality in the state of Carabobo, located in the western part of the state (Venezuela); approximately 10 kilometers from another town or city where I also captured photographs of its church and Bolívar Square, which is located in the western part of the state of Carabobo and is known as Bejuma. I had more than thirty years without going to Montalbán, I was able to visit it and I captured photographs of its church and the Bolívar Square that is located in front of it.
La iglesia se encuentra entre la calle Andrés Bello y la avenida Bolívar y el frente de la iglesia en la avenida Carabobo. Las primeras fotografías de la iglesia, que muestro a continuación, las capturé caminando por la avenida Bolívar. La iglesia tiene una cúpula sencilla de mampostería. También hay otra cúpula pequeña que protege la capilla lateral ubicada detrás del campanario.
The church is located between Andrés Bello Street and Bolívar Avenue and the front of the church on Carabobo Avenue. The first photographs of the church, which I show below, were taken walking along Bolívar Avenue. The church has a simple masonry dome. There is also another small dome protecting the side chapel behind the bell tower.
Esta construcción religiosa fue erigida en el XVIII y es conocida como Iglesia Inmaculada Concepción. La iglesia muestra la utilización de elementos neoclásicos en la organización de sus espacios y en sus fachadas.
This religious construction was erected in the XVIII century and is known as Iglesia Inmaculada Concepción (Immaculate Conception Church). The church shows the use of neoclassical elements in the organization of its spaces and in its facades.
La fachada principal exhibe tres portones con arcos que comunican con sus naves internas, todas delimitadas por pilastras y la central está jerarquizada con un frontón curvo. Este cuerpo central culmina su borde superior con un muro a dos aguas. Alineada con la fachada antes mencionada, y alzándose a ambos lados las torres del campanario con cuatro niveles y ventanas con arcos la de la izquierda, y la de la derecha con relojes, ambas culminan con techo en forma de pirámide octagonal.
The main facade exhibits three gates with arches that communicate with its internal naves, all delimited by pilasters and the central one is hierarchized with a curved pediment. This central body culminates its upper edge with a gabled wall. Aligned with the facade mentioned above, and rising on both sides the bell towers with four levels and arched windows on the left, and the right with clocks, both culminating with a roof in the form of octagonal pyramid.
La plaza Bolívar es un espacio público que se ubica en pleno centro de Montalbán y está circundado por vías vehiculares. La siguiente fotografía la capturé estando de pie en el cruce de la avenida Bolívar con la avenida Carabobo.
The Bolívar Square is a public space located in the center of Montalbán and is surrounded by vehicular roads. The following photograph was taken while standing at the intersection of Bolívar and Carabobo avenues.
La plaza posee una imagen arquitectónica de líneas modernas y sencillas con predominio de materiales como adoquines (bloques de forma rectangular o de paralelepípedo) en acabado de pisos. Tiene jardineras y el concreto armado ha sido empleado en diversos elementos. Contiene abundante vegetación de sombra y ornamental. Cabe destacar que la plaza se caracterizaba por la presencia de dos árboles de cotoperí (género Melicoccus) y ahora solo queda uno que es el que se ve a la izquierda en la siguiente fotografía; el otro se cayó y fue removido. El cotoperí es el árbol emblemático del municipio Montalbán.
The square has an architectural image of modern and simple lines with a predominance of materials such as cobblestones (rectangular or parallelepiped shaped blocks) in floor finishing. It has planters and reinforced concrete has been used in various elements. It contains abundant shade and ornamental vegetation. It is worth mentioning that the square was characterized by the presence of two "cotoperí" trees (genus Melicoccus) and now only one remains, which is the one seen on the left in the following photograph; the other one fell and was removed. The "cotoperí" is the emblematic tree of the municipality of Montalbán.

I captured the photographs below, turning to my left to give a panoramic view of the Bolívar Square.
En donde se encuentra el vehículo en la siguiente fotografía, es la avenida Luis Pérez Carreño, que es la avenida paralela a la avenida Carabobo; ambas limitan la plaza.
Where the vehicle is in the following photograph is Luis Pérez Carreño Avenue, which is the avenue parallel to Carabobo Avenue; both limit the square.
En el centro de la plaza se ubica sobre un pedestal revestido de mármol la estatua en bronce de El Libertador Simón Bolívar. La estatua representa a Simón Bolívar mirando al frente, sosteniendo en la diestra un pliego enrollado con la constitución de la Gran Colombia y en la izquierda una espada desenvainada. Viste indumentaria militar, compuesta por casaca con charreteras en los hombros, botas a la rodilla y capa sobre la vestimenta.
In the center of the square is located on a pedestal covered with marble the bronze statue of The Liberator Simón Bolívar. The statue represents Simón Bolívar looking straight ahead, holding in his right hand a rolled up sheet with the constitution of Gran Colombia and in his left a drawn sword. He wears military clothing, consisting of a coat with epaulettes on the shoulders, boots to the knee and a cape over his clothing.
Finalmente comentar que he escrito sobre el ave y la flor emblemáticas del municipio Montalbán. El ave emblemática es el canario coronado (Sicalis flaveola) y la flor emblemática es la cayena (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis).
Finally to comment that I have written about the emblematic bird and the emblematic flower of the municipality Montalbán. The emblematic bird is the saffron finch (Sicalis flaveola) and the emblematic flower is the Chinese hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis).
