Light Painting On A Bridge

Like every Sunday, I would like to make you happy at the end of the week with a blog about light painting. A joint light painting weekend with @stepko, @lichtkunstfoto and Hans Roufflair had been planned for a long time. Last week I reported on the night at the Heilandskirche in Potsdam. On Saturday we drove to a river called the Black Elster to an old, rusty railway bridge. We still had a full moon, which didn't make the light painting any easier. I would like to present the results here.
Wie jeden Sonntag, möchte ich euch auch an diesem Wochenausklang mit einem Blog über das Lightpainting beglücken. Lang geplant war ein gemeinsames Light-Painting-Wochenende mit @stepko, @lichtkunstfoto und Hans Roufflair. Letzte Woche berichtete ich über die Nacht an der Heilandskirche in Potsdam. Am Samstag fuhren wir an einen Fluß namens schwarze Elster an eine alte, rostige Eisenbahnbrücke. Wir hatten immer noch Vollmond, was das Lightpainting nicht erleichtert hat. Die Ergebnisse möchte ich hier präsentieren.

Danger!

On the cover picture you can see Hans Roufflair as a model. I illuminated him from behind with a blue Convoy S2+. I exposed the bridge with an EMISAR D18 with a blue filter and a backlight scanner. I used this tool to move from the end of the bridge towards the model. I accelerated my step frequency as the distance to the camera decreased in order to illuminate the bridge as evenly as possible. I had to concentrate on the sills because it went straight into the water between the sills. Any misstep would result in a fall into the river and I didn't feel like taking a dip in the cold water after dark. The moon shone so bright that night that I didn't have to expose anything else. It was almost too bright for light painting.
Auf dem Titelbild seht ihr Hans Roufflair als Model. Ihn habe ich von hinten mit einer blauen Convoy S2+ angeleuchtet. Die Brücke wurde von mir mit einer EMISAR D18 mit blauen Filter und einem Backlight-Scanner belichtet. Dabei bewegte ich mich mit diesem Tool vom Ende der Brücke auf das Modell zu. Ich beschleunigte meine Schrittfrequenz mit der abnehmenden Distanz zur Kamera, um die Brücke möglichst gleichmäßig auszuleuchten. Dabei musste ich mich auf die Schwellen konzentrieren, da es zwischen den Schwellen direkt ins Wasser ging. Jeder Fehltritt hätte einen Absturz in den Fluss zur Folge. Auf ein Bad bei Dunkelheit im kalten Wasser hatte ich keine Lust. Der Mond schien in dieser Nacht so hell, dass ich nichts weiter belichten musste. Es war schon fast zu hell zum Lightpainten.

In the picture above you can see the rusty bridge lit only by the moonlight. If you didn't see the star trails in the picture, you might think the picture was taken during the day.
Auf dem Bild oben seht ihr die rostige Brücke, die nur vom Mondlicht beleuchtet wird. Wenn die Sternspuren auf dem Bild nicht zu sehn währen, könnte man vielleicht denken, dass das Bild tagsüber aufgenommen wurde.

Camera Rotation

In the image below, the bridge was illuminated by an EMISAR D18 with a red filter. Then I rotated the camera 180° around its own axis and illuminated the bridge again with the EMISAR D18 with a red filter.
Im Bild unten wurde die Brücke durch eine EMISAR D18 mit rotem Filter beleuchtet.

Dann habe ich die Kamera um 180° um die eigene Achse gedreht und die Brücke erneut mit der EMISAR D18 mit rotem Filter angeleuchtet.
