Finding peace, life, and abundance in the tranquil village of Mabuli.

"We can never have enough of nature."
–Henry David Thoreau.

Sometimes in the middle of my stroll along nature, I wonder if there would be a time that I'll get enough of these beauties that surround me. Will I get tired and finally feel satisfied with the different sights of nature that unfold my eyes? But nature made me realize, these questions I ask are too shallow and too naive because the more I indulge myself in nature, hiking to grasslands, fields, rivers, and mountains, the more mother nature made me crave her, and the more everything has become more meaningful.

And to satisfy my "insatiable cravings", I immerse myself more in nature through hiking and walking the countryside. The more I do it, the more nature revealed what is life, to me. And the more I see the unique facets of nature the more I became mindful and grateful about life.

So in this blog, I'm showing you another beautiful side of nature and what kind of life it signifies.

This nature you will about to see is the beautiful landscape of lush vegetation, mountains, tiny houses made of natural resources, and some wildflowers I came across during one of my hikes. This is the silent village of Mabuli, one of the most tranquil and serene villages in town.

The Rolling Mountains

To be welcomed by the grand rolling mountains once I stepped into this village felt like I'm too small in this big world yet I'm honored to face these mighty giants.

The proud mountains sitting in their place, filled with green foliage seemed to protect and watch this whole silent village.

IMG20230628110018.jpg

I was imagining the varieties of trees that grew in the mountains as their color appear dark green from afar. I remember hearing my neighbor's invitation before to gather firewood in Mabuli, they must be referring to these mountains.

And the more I walk closer to it, the more I was in awe at its majestic beauty!

Gardens, Gardens, Gardens!

Beneath the rugged mountains are the captivating gardens filled with life. The gardens lying on the fertile grounds are nurtured by the skillful and resourceful gardeners of Mabuli.

IMG20230628070037.jpg

The gardens are huge and wide in size. Actually, it's a farm in size! Most of its plants are the bitter gourd, corn, and a few Okras. The healthy vines of bitter gourds covering its trellis look like a blanket of greens! I wanna lay on top of it!

Some gardens are creatively made of sturdy straws and the vegetables are alternately planted creating a design. The garden itself is a sight!

IMG20230628070347.jpg

Staring at the gardens and how the people took care of it made me admire more of the farmers in the countryside. Truly there is an abundance in the countryside, we don't need to go to supermarkets to buy our food as long as we will tend the land and work hard for it.

I knew that behind these wonderful sights of the gardens is the lesson on how to be self-sufficient. I felt the simplicity of life in this serene view of the garden and made me realize the beautiful outcome when nature and man connect and work together. Oh, I wanna go home and make my own garden too!

Houses built with natural resources!

The connection between man and nature in this village doesn't only end at the garden they grow but also the houses they live in. Though there are few concrete houses in this place, the existence of houses built with bamboo and cogon grass is still in large number.

Some roofs of the houses are made of Nipa Leaves or Cogon Grass while their walls are made of bamboo and Buri Palms. The houses are vulnerable to storm and fire but I believe that locals living in this place are extra careful and that the mighty mountains are ready to protect these houses from strong winds and storms.

Life and Wild Beauties.

On our way, we happened to pass the village's source of water. Though this village is a super quiet one, you can find a group of locals in random areas talking to each other while fetching water for their daily consumption. The water is free and unlimited in this village!

Some goats happily graze the grasslands.

And since this village has plenty of rivers you can see bridges big and small on their roads.

So which way to go?

I also came across beautiful wildflowers along the way, but the beauty of these two flowers was what stood out for me. I don't know what their names are but I know they add beauty to the evergreens!

I discovered so much about this beautiful village. The village is at its simplest yet it is abundant in the gift of nature. This hike has made me appreciate more about the countryside and admire the farmers that brought food to our table.

This is another beautiful view of nature I witnessed, yes, I feel the sense of satisfaction but I know for sure I'll be hiking for more and indulging myself in nature for more because I must admit I could never have enough of nature!

That's it for this hike of finding peace, life, and abundance in the tranquil village of Mabuli. I hope you enjoy reading. I wish you all safe and well always.

Don't forget to smile and be kind always.😍

You're right Maam, seeing and walking the corners of nature is captivating and spiritually uplifting.

Homemade huts where teaching has been shared down many generations are sure to hold firm through many storms.

Oh, I never thought of this, this must be the reason why locals keep on building these huts, aside from that they can save money but I think it's more on the "trust" and the tradition" of building these huts.

Thank you so much Ma'am for your words! 😊 Have a beautiful day!🌸

Very much cheaper option when building a home, many will build adding rooms as a family grows. If weather affects the building finding a plot where it may not suffer damage by storms, the old most definitely pass on this knowledge, very sad if it is lost!
