Takanakuy: GESTURES AND THE STREET STYLE / GESTOS Y EL ESTILO DE BARRIO [ENG - ESP]

Freezing Tension & Unconventional Fights / Congelando Tensiones y Peleas No Convencionales

“A good photograph doesn't just capture a moment; it freezes feelings, tension, and the very dust suspended in the air.”

English

Hello, friends of the Black and White community. This time I bring you another part of my documentary series, "Takanakuy." This was one of the fights I liked the most because of the expressions the fighter showed. The angle I was shooting from was also very good. I was a bit sad because I missed the focus on several shots that I had to discard later, but even so, it was a great satisfaction.

The looks they gave each other were very piercing, and that was something I loved. The fighting style was also different; it wasn't the usual Takanakuy fight. It was more of a stand-up brawl, looking a bit more like what we call here in my country a "street style" or de barrio. It was a completely different kind of fight.

As always, this led me to reflect that you shouldn't just analyze the decisive moment, but also the gestures, the movements, and everything that encompasses the photograph. It’s not just an instant; a photo freezes so many things: feelings, mobility, tension, the dirt kicking up around them, the way they clench their fists, how they look, whether they are nervous or not. All of that makes a photograph truly good because you managed to unite all those details in a single image.

I would be lying if I told you I remembered who the winner of this fight was, but I hope you enjoy the photos I am sharing with you today. I am always happy to share a bit of my art with this beautiful community. I hope you have a wonderful day and a great start to the week, and may peace and unity reign in your homes. Good vibes.

Vibras.

Hi,

I was reading a bit about this, so today I’ve learnt something new. I hope those two fighters have resolved their conflicts. The photos are very good. And it always happens that some get spoiled and we suffer a little… but in the end, you’ve achieved something really good here.
