Saving coin by coin to reach my goal of covering this year's Takanakuy, I continue to share the shots from my first documentary work. Each fight has a different story, a unique angle, and distinct interactions. In some, you see a stronger grudge; in others, something more peaceful even laughter. But in the end, there is always the union of both fighters. It is the end of a problem, the end of a grudge.

I often think about how beautiful it would be if things in the world ended like this. In a time where we don't know what tomorrow will bring whether we will have electricity, internet, or if our money will be enough due to inflation and corruption life continues. We plan our next projects and trips, sometimes out of pleasure, and others out of necessity.

I use these reflections to compare the Takanakuy with life. You can have a discussion, but you must always end in peace and brotherhood. I’ve seen it: two people who may have gotten along poorly for a long time, sharing chicha or coca, then they face each other in the arena for a minute of punches, and when it’s over, everything is settled. Unity and forgiveness are primordial. That is the message I want to bring you today.

Ahorrando sol tras sol para llegar a mi propósito de cubrir el Takanakuy de este año, sigo compartiéndoles las fotografías de mi primer trabajo documental. Cada pelea tiene una historia diferente, un ángulo único y distintas interacciones. En algunas se ve una rencilla más fuerte; en otras, algo más apaciguado, incluso risas. Pero al final de todo, siempre está la unión de ambos luchadores. Es el fin de un problema, el fin de una rencilla.

Me pongo a pensar y digo qué hermoso sería que las cosas en el mundo terminaran así. En un tiempo donde no sabemos qué pasará mañana, si tendremos luz, internet o si el dinero nos alcanzará por la inflación y la corrupción, la vida continúa. Planeamos nuestros siguientes proyectos y viajes, a veces por placer y otras por necesidad.

Uso estas reflexiones para comparar el Takanakuy con la vida. Podemos tener una discusión, pero siempre hay que terminar en paz y en amor. Lo he visto: dos personas que tal vez se llevaron mal por mucho tiempo, compartiendo chicha o coca, luego se encuentran en la arena por un minuto de golpes y, al terminar, se acabó todo. La unidad y el perdonarse son primordiales. Ese es el mensaje que vengo a darles hoy.
