Hello my friends of the Black and White community.

We continue with the Takanakuy series—I still have enough material for many more posts. Today, I want to show something different while maintaining the narrative of masks, typical costumes, and dances, but adding a central element: beer.

Like many festivities, this one is characterized by drinking in massive quantities. It seems as though a whole year's savings are spent on case after case, bottle after bottle, until consciousness is lost. As spirits flare up, people begin to seek justice with their own hands. Yet, there is also camaraderie and unity—everything that comes with being under the influence, creating a distorted, parallel reality.

In the Andes, people drink heavily, and it is a complex social situation; they don't like being told "no" and will push you to drink with them. Refusing a drink can be seen as an insult because they are very proud people. I tried to capture this atmosphere in these photos I edited today. I hope you enjoy them.

Hola mis amigos de la comunidad Blanco y Negro.

Seguimos con el Takanakuy, tengo material para muchos posts más. Hoy pongo algo diferente tratando de concretar una narrativa sobre las máscaras, trajes típicos, bailes y mucha cerveza.

Estas fiestas, como muchas otras, se caracterizan (aparte de los golpes) por beber en cantidades industriales. Pareciera que todos los ahorros del año se van en cerveza, caja tras caja, botella tras botella, hasta perder el conocimiento. Los ánimos se empiezan a encender y las personas ya quieren empezar a hacer justicia por sus propias manos, pero también está la camaradería y la unión; todo lo que te da estar bajo el efecto del alcohol, que es una distorsión, una realidad paralela.

La gente de los Andes toma mucho y es complicado porque no les gusta que les digas que no; te hacen beber y no puedes negarte porque se resienten, son personas orgullosas. Aquí traté de captar esa esencia en algunas fotos que tomé y edité el día de hoy. Espero sean de su agrado.
