Sundays of Passion: Dance and Motion

Hello dear Black and White community,

Sometimes I accompany Dani, my partner, to her flamenco dance rehearsals; it’s also a chance for me to practice a bit of motion photography. Well… not “sometimes”, this was the first time! Haha. But the girls take it seriously: it’s a Sunday at 8 a.m., in the studio, rehearsing.

They truly love what they do. If I had to take photos at 5 a.m. on a Sunday, I wouldn’t think twice. I’d go. But I just ended up admiring the power of their dance: the coordination, the passion, and not just with their feet, but also with their hands, their faces, and the strength expressed in every movement. Simply beautiful. Sometimes I would just stare like a fool and forget about taking pictures.

I’m very happy for them, and for me, all forms of art are valid; it captivates me, transports me somewhere else. I wish I could learn to dance, but I have “two left feet.” Even though I’m someone who believes practice makes perfect, who would have the patience? Still, I enjoyed every single minute there. It was two hours, I took thousands of photos, and here are some I chose from all of them.

It took me a while to select them, but above all, I hope you enjoy this series. I always send my best vibes and energy to all of you, and thank you for stopping by. Eternally grateful.

Domingos de Pasión: Danza y Movimiento

Hola querida comunidad en Blanco y Negro,

A veces acompaño a Dani, mi pareja, a sus ensayos de danza flamenca; así de paso practico un poquito de fotografía en movimiento. Bueno, no “a veces”… ¡esta fue la primera vez! Jajaja. Pero igual las chicas se lo toman en serio: es un domingo a las 8 a.m., en el estudio, ensayando.

Aman lo que hacen. Si yo tuviera que hacer fotografías a las 5 a.m. un domingo, no lo pensaría dos veces, me mandaría. Pero solo me quedé admirando el poder del baile: la coordinación, la pasión, y no solo con los pies, sino también con las manos, el rostro, y la fuerza que expresa cada movimiento. Simplemente hermoso. A veces me quedaba mirando como tonto y me olvidaba de las fotos.

Estoy muy feliz por ellas, y para mí toda expresión de arte es válida; me engatusa, me transporta a otro lugar. Quisiera aprender a bailar, pero tengo “cinco pies izquierdos”. Aunque soy de los que piensan que con práctica todo se puede, ¿quién le tendría la paciencia? Igual disfruté cada minuto allí. Fueron dos horas, tengo miles de fotos, y les dejo algunas que elegí de tantas.

Me tomó tiempo elegirlas, pero más que nada espero que disfruten esta serie. Siempre les mando las mejores vibras y energías a todos ustedes, y gracias por pasar por acá. Eternamente agradecido.
