Hello dear Black and White community,

I go to work as usual, and each time I lose more of the fear of taking out my camera in places that may not feel very safe, or of someone scolding me for taking a photo. I don’t think so much anymore about whether it’s right or wrong—I simply act on instinct. And I like that, because it allows me to express more of what I carry inside through my photographs.

I love capturing people in their everyday lives: what a gaze can reveal, a way of walking, the exhaustion at the end of the day… or how light can bring life to a dark street. Day and night transform spaces, and that contrast feels fascinating to me. In Lima, people never stop—they work hard and relentlessly. The city is tough; it doesn’t give you time to pause. Today I was able to capture many scenes, and I always end the day with that feeling of satisfaction, seeing reflected what I was searching to express.

In this series, titled Calle Luna, Calle Sol, I share intense moments from my walks, both daytime and nighttime. I hope you can connect with the people and the stories I captured.

Hola querida comunidad en Blanco y Negro

Salgo a laborar como siempre, y cada vez pierdo más el miedo a sacar la cámara en lugares no muy seguros o a que alguien me regañe por tomar una foto. Ya no pienso tanto en si está bien o mal, simplemente actúo por instinto. Eso me gusta, porque siento que puedo expresar más lo que llevo dentro en mis fotografías.

Me encanta retratar a la gente en su día a día: lo que dice una mirada, una forma de andar, el cansancio al final de la jornada… o cómo la luz puede dar vida a una calle oscura. El día y la noche transforman los espacios, y esa diferencia me parece fascinante de mostrar. La gente en Lima no se detiene, trabaja duro y parejo, y la ciudad es exigente, no te da tiempo para detenerte. Hoy pude capturar muchas escenas y siempre termino el día con esa satisfacción de ver reflejado lo que busco expresar.

En esta serie, titulada Calle Luna, Calle Sol, comparto momentos intensos de mis caminatas diurnas y nocturnas. Ojalá puedan conectar con las personas y las historias que retraté.
