Misminay: The Journey through the Andean Countryside / Misminay: El Camino por el Campo Andino

Hello, my dear friends from the Black and White community.

Today I bring you the beginning of my journey to the Misminay community, located about 60 kilometers from the center of Cusco. I took a car from the bus station and got off in the district of Maras. From there, I started a 15-kilometer hike, which felt like only 3 because the beautiful landscapes made every step worthwhile. Along the way, I encountered apple trees, many farmers working the land with their livestock, and, as I mentioned, dreamlike landscapes.

Many people choose to pay for tours to go to remote communities. I prefer to do it all on foot, as this way I can interact with the locals, learn a lot about their customs, and get to know them on a deeper level.

Here I leave you this small series that marks the beginning of the entire journey.

Hola mis queridos amigos de la comunidad Blanco y Negro.

Hoy les traigo el comienzo de mi trayecto a la comunidad Misminay, que se encuentra a unos 60 kilómetros del centro de Cusco. Tomé un auto en la estación de buses y me bajé en el distrito de Maras. Desde ahí, empecé una caminata de 15 kilómetros, que parecieron 3 porque los hermosos paisajes hacían que cada paso valga la pena. En ella, me encontré árboles de manzanas, muchos trabajadores de la tierra con sus ganados y, como les comenté, paisajes de sueño.

Muchas personas optan por pagar tours para ir a las comunidades alejadas. Yo prefiero hacerlo todo a pie; así también puedo interactuar con los lugareños, aprender mucho de sus costumbres y conocerlos más a fondo.

Acá les dejo esta pequeña serie que es el comienzo de toda la travesía.
