Hello friends of the B&W community. I’ve been absent for a while, and I want to share a difficult situation I've been going through. Recently, my university invited me to document a ping-pong tournament. I would have liked to edit more photos, but my current situation has been tough. I had a major problem with my external hard drive. I was transferring files to free up space on my Mac, but the new drive failed. It trapped my photos, and I lost 70-80% of my work from years in a single moment.

I feel frustrated and heartbroken. For us photographers, a photo is not just an image; it’s invaluable, a story, a feeling. We fall in love with what we observe and enjoy. But it’s done; there is no turning back. I’m still fighting to see if I can recover more. Luckily, I managed to recover the tournament photos. I needed to vent this, to share the struggle. Hola amigos de la comunidad en blanco y negro. He estado desaparecido porque he pasado por un problema fatal. Recientemente me invitaron en la universidad a participar en un campeonato relámpago de ping-pong. Hubiera querido editar más fotos, pero me ha costado mucho poder presentar este trabajo debido a un problema con mi memoria externa. Hice un traspaso para hacer un respaldo desde mi Mac, pero la memoria nueva falló. Se quedó con las fotos adentro y perdí entre el 70% y 80% de todo mi trabajo de años en un solo momento.

Hoy me siento muy frustrado. Los que somos fotógrafos sabemos que la fotografía es una pasión; no es sólo una foto, es algo invaluable, tiene una historia, un sentido, un sentir. Nos enamoramos de lo que observamos. Ya no hay marcha atrás, pero seguiré luchando para ver si puedo recuperar algo más. Por suerte, pude recuperar las fotos del torneo de ping-pong. Necesitaba desahogarme un poco. Las cosas pasan por algo, y si te caes, te levantas más fuerte. Vendrán nuevas aventuras.
