LIMA: THE ROUTINE THROUGH THE GRID

Back in Lima, I went for a walk today and took the opportunity to capture some shots, returning to the observation of the daily routine. From the moment I step onto the bus, I start composing, searching for human framings and observing everything that surrounds me. I had to go to the bank for some errands, and along the path of metal grids, I enjoyed stopping to take photos using the bars as a frame to make the subject fit, while everyone continued with their day.

"Bus stops are also an excellent point; I loved how feet change within the same photograph, working layer upon layer."

In the end, I couldn't take more photos because I had to stay alert and stop distracting myself with the camera. I took a break and headed back home. Urban photography in Lima requires that balance between the artistic eye and the survival instinct.

De vuelta en Lima, hoy salí de caminata y aproveché para sacar unas fotos, volviendo a observar la rutina del día a día. Desde que subo al bus ya empiezo a hacer encuadres, a buscar framings humanos y a observar todo lo que me rodea. Tenía que ir al banco a hacer unos trámites; en el camino de enrejados, me gustó detenerme y sacar algunas fotos con encuadre, haciendo que el sujeto encaje mientras cada quien sigue en su día.

"Los paraderos también son un punto excelente; me encantó cómo los pies cambian en una misma fotografía, trabajando capas sobre capas."

Al final no pude hacer más fotos porque tenía que estar atento y ya no distraerme con la cámara. Me tomé una pausa y volví a casa. La fotografía urbana en Lima exige ese equilibrio entre el ojo artístico y el instinto de estar alerta.
