"Windows to the Inca Past: Exploring the Ruins of Pisac in Monochrome"
This is my entry for the Monomad Challenge, curated by @monochromes.
(English)
Hello everyone in the black and white photography community.
I want to invite you to a new stop on my photographic journey through the magical Cusco region. This time, I got to explore the ancient ruins of the Pisac Archaeological Park, located in the district of Calca, 30 kilometers from the city of Cusco, Peru. This is one of the most important places in Inca history.
Pisac is one of my favorite archaeological sites. As you walk its stone paths, each structure becomes a window to the Inca past, revealing the astounding engineering, and you realize that it has the shape of a partridge. The Incas always built their edifices in the shape of animals. It is a magical and incredible place to take many photographs.
For me, the choice of black and white in this photograph was not only to highlight the forms, textures, light, shadow, and contrasts, but also to evoke a feeling and a journey to the past of the Incaic Andes.
I hope this photograph transports you to the times of Incaic power in the Andes and that it is entirely to your liking.

Dear @monochromes, I initially understood that the Monomad Challenge required only one photo, which is why I submitted a single image. However, after reading your clarification, I’ve updated my post and added more black and white photos to meet the current requirements.
Thank you for the feedback and for curating this beautiful challenge. I really appreciate the opportunity to participate.
No problem at all.
Thank you very much for editing the post and good luck for the challenge!
EDIT:
As a side note, try not to reuse already posted images in Hive like you did here.
Someone might report you for reposting content and compromise your account that way. And that would be a shame. 🙂
Dear @monochromes,
Following your kind advice, I edited the same post by removing the previously published images and replacing them with completely new black and white photos that have not been shared on Hive before.
I also updated the full written content to match the new photos. I hope this update meets the challenge requirements. Thank you again for your guidance and for taking the time to support us.
Best regards,
@cabzphoto
