A Busy Week Before the Holidays / Una Semana Agitada Antes de las Fiestas

Good start to the week, my friends in the community! We're already entering the last few weeks of the year, and with Christmas just around the corner, I feel a bit nostalgic because family is getting smaller, but we still celebrate with those who are here.

Yesterday, I went out to look for some presents and came across many familiar faces—workers collecting trash, a job I respect a lot, and many children already out on the streets, often used by their parents to ask for things. It's a very low strategy because, despite everything, I’m not in favor of using children to benefit oneself. That’s why I always give them some candy or something they can eat, never money, because sometimes they’re not even the parents’ children, but street kids.

Well, with the year coming to an end, today I have a very busy and difficult day ahead, but I just wanted to stop by and thank everyone for the support you give my posts and the beautiful comments you leave. I wish you all a beautiful start to the week and send the best vibes as always.

Am wondering what the little girl in your first shoot is scoping for? Did you see what she tried to get?

She was playing with the soil in the flowerpot, wearing the veil because they belong to a Jesuit religion. During this time of year, you see many children like this, asking for alms on the streets for Christmas. It’s such a sad sight. I’m glad you liked the photo. It helps me raise awareness about the realities we live every day. Thank you for your comment.

It helps me raise awareness about the realities

This is a great way of using the art of photography. For that reason, I like Banksy so much. Less photography, more painting, but with a very similar aim.

I’m really glad that my intention was captured by you. I believe that street or documentary photography has, in part, the mission of showing realities that others might not see, and raising awareness that sometimes we are very fortunate for what we have. It’s also important to contribute and help those who need it most. It’s a pleasure to come across conscious people like you in the community. Thank you for sharing your comments
