My short vacation in Rome - part 2
Hello everyone,
This post is a continuation of the previous one, and I'm once again telling you about my vacation, albeit a short one, in Rome. I've already told you about my experience and my visit to the Vatican Museums, which are definitely worth the ticket price. It's definitely worth spending a whole day inside these museums, which are very interesting in every way.
The day began with one of Rome's typical desserts, the maritozzo, a must-try if you come to Rome; it gives you a super boost for breakfast.
My visit continued with visits to Rome's beautiful squares, including a must-see visit to the stunning Trevi Fountain, the most beautiful example of Baroque architecture in Rome, in my opinion. All tourists, including myself, visit the fountain. I threw a coin into it because, according to legend or tradition, throwing a coin into the fountain guarantees a return to Rome.
I then moved with my mother to Piazza di Spagna, another must-see spot where you can admire the Spanish Steps, another 18th-century Baroque staircase, and the Fontana della Barcaccia, designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini's son.
Then we moved on to the Altar of the Fatherland and the Colosseum, but first we had a quick lunch break with a delicious sandwich we found at one of the many restaurants here in Rome.
I took several photos and then also stopped by Piazza del Popolo, probably one of Rome's most famous squares, a neoclassical square where you can admire the beautiful Obedisco Flaminio, over twenty meters tall, brought to Rome by the Roman Empire in ancient times.
Unfortunately, I didn't have time to visit other things. You must have stayed in Rome for weeks because I had so many places to see, but as usual, it will be an opportunity to return. Also because, as I told you, I tossed a coin.
Thanks for reading. See you in my next post.
