After the museum, visit Trento and the cathedral

Hi friends, if you followed yesterday's post you saw that I visited one of the most important museums from a scientific point of view in Italy, but since I had some time left and didn't want to go home straight away, I took the opportunity to visit the center of Trento, which in any case We are talking about a very important city also from a historical point of view, but above all I knew that the Civic Gallery was open and it was possible to visit it completely free of charge because Sunday was the first Sunday of the month.

So I said, why not visit this gallery? I thought it was an interesting place but unfortunately the layout was really awful. I thought I would find some contemporary art inside, but in reality there was something related to the twentieth century, some small works, and then all the building projects that were built between the 90s and 2000s in Trento, including several shopping centres and also the University of Trento which is quite famous throughout the world.

so I didn't stay long inside this gallery, and not knowing what else to do I also wanted to visit the cathedral of Trento or rather the cathedral of San Vigilio which is the main church and is built in Romanesque Gothic style, it is said to have been founded by San Vigilio hosted the Council of Trent in 1545 and only in 1960 or so the archaeological excavations that took place revealed that under the basilica there is an early Christian church.

The church is basically made up of three naves, and I noticed that there are several fragments of fourteenth-century frescoes, but what certainly struck me the most are these rose windows that create a very particular atmosphere. The entrance to the church is completely free, but you cannot take photos, let's say during the various functions, while to go to the oldest part of the church where the crypt and the relics of San Vigilio are located, you have to pay €3, a fairly fair price, let's say.

It was very interesting anyway, I had been to Trento several times but in reality when you travel, maybe even quickly, you never notice certain details, this time that I had a little more time and I was able to see this church in more detail, I noticed several very fascinating architectural details, I hope that the photos My story was interesting See you in my next post and thank you for reading them.
