"Discovering the Magic of Yumurí Canyon: A Journey Through Cuba's Natural Wonder"

Hello, friends of #Worldmappin, resuming the incredible adventures experienced in Baracoa, known as the "First City of Cuba," today I want you to join me on a trip to the "Yumurí Canyon," located 30 km away. If you ever find yourself in Baracoa, this is something you cannot miss. We left early, and after a somewhat exhausting journey, the encounter with the impressive Paso del Alemán (German's Pass) rejuvenates your day.

It's something like a natural cave created by erosion over many years that cuts through the mountain, and the road passes right through it. It's impossible not to stop the journey to capture photos of this impressive place. Crossing it was like entering another world: the darkness of the cave, the rock walls, and suddenly, the light on the other side revealing a vast valley. Absolutely crazy!

When you finally reach the destination, that natural viewpoint of the Yumurí Canyon. Wow, friends, what a view! From up there, you can see everything: the river winding through the mountains, the lush green vegetation that looks painted, and the silence, only broken by the sound of birds. It's one of those places that make you feel small in the face of nature's immensity, thank God for these incredible gifts. We stayed there for a while, taking photos and enjoying the landscape, while preparations were made to cross the river.

Then we went down to the river for a boat ride, which was, without a doubt, the most magical part of the day. The river is calm, the water crystal clear, and on both sides, there is such lush vegetation that it feels like you're in a jungle movie. The trees lean over the river, the palms sway in the breeze, and occasionally, you hear the sound of a bird or the splash of a fish. The guide told us the legend of the Taínos, who would jump into the river shouting "¡Yumurí!" (which means "I am already dead") before being captured by the Spanish colonizers who arrived in the area. That story added a touch of melancholy to the place, but also a sense of respect for its history.

The mouth of the river, where it meets the sea, what a special moment! Seeing how the freshwater mixes with the saltwater, how the river merges with the sea, is something that cannot be described in words. We got off the boat and walked along the beach, feeling the sea breeze and the sun on our faces. The contrast between the green of the mountains and the blue of the sea is something I will never forget.

Friends, this excursion was one of those experiences that fill your soul. The Yumurí Canyon is not just a beautiful place; it's a place with history, with life, with an energy that connects you with nature and the past. If you ever have the opportunity to visit, don't hesitate. It's a journey worth every second.

Well, that's all for today. Sending you a big hug, and I hope you enjoy the photos I uploaded! Stay tuned for new posts about other stunning places during my stay in the easternmost part of the island.
