Greetings appreciated Amazing Nature community! Wishing you a happy Sunday, today I want to share another post dedicated to naturals and this one is very special because I want to dedicate it to one of the hive women for whom I have great appreciation: @palomap3 with whom I share one of my great passions: teaching . In a previous post I shared that I am a researcher at the Institute of Experimental Biology (IBE) but I am also a teacher at the Central University of Venezuela, specifically in the School of Biology of the Faculty of Sciences and in this publication I want to share with you the natural spaces from my beloved Faculty of Sciences, so without further ado let's get started!

Deseandoles un feliz domingo hoy quiero compartirles otro post dedicado a la naturales y este es muy especial porque quiero dedicarlo a una de las mujeres de hive a las que le tengo un gran aprecio: @palomap3 con quien comparto una de mis grandes pasiones: la docencia. En un post anterior les compartí que Soy investigador en el instituto de Biología Experimental (IBE) pero también soy docente en la Universidad Central de Venezuela específicamente en la Escuela de Biología de la Facultad de Ciencias y en esta publicación quiero compartir con ustedes los espacios naturales de mi querida Facultad de Ciencias, así que sin más preámbulos comencemos!
First a little history, the Faculty of Sciences had its origin in 1947 as a small department of Natural Sciences in the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, which is currently the Faculty of Engineering, with the purpose of training professionals in biology, physics, mathematics and chemistry. Over time this department grew to become the School of Sciences, which was later incorporated into the Faculty of Pharmacy and finally in 1958 it became the Faculty of Sciences with 4 Schools: Biology, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.
Primero un poco de historia, la Facultad de Ciencias tuvo su origen en 1947 como un pequeño departamento de Ciencias Naturales en la Facultad de Ciencias Físicas y Matemáticas que actualmente es la Facultad de Ingeniería, con el propósito de formar profesionales en biología, física, matemática y química. Con el tiempo este departamento creció hasta convertirse en la Escuela de Ciencias que se incorporó más tarde a la Facultad de Farmacia y que finalmente en el año 1958 se convierte en la Facultad de Ciencias con 4 Escuelas: Biología, Física, Matemática, y Química.
The first photos you can see are the plaza Francisco De Venanzi Rector of the UCV who promoted the founding of the Faculty of Sciences and as you can see, like the IBE, nature is very present in the spaces of the faculty, 2 even visited us Guacharacas, these birds belong to the Cracidae family. They are a galliformes bird, so they are related to domestic chickens. They are very common in faculty and science spaces, but they are not the main protagonists. That role is played by the large macaws. who also live in these spaces, but we will tell their story in a future post.
Las primeras fotos que puedes ver son la plaza Francisco De Venanzi Rector de la UCV quien promovió la fundación de la Facultad de Ciencias y como pueden contemplar al igual que el IBE la naturaleza esta muy presentes en los espacios de la facultad, incluso nos visitaron 2 Guacharacas estas aves pertenecen a la familia de las Cracidae es un ave galliforme por lo que guarda relación con las gallinas domesticas, son muy comunes en los espacios de la facultad y de ciencias pero no son las principales protagonistas, ese rol lo tienen las grandes guacamayas que también hacen vida en estos espacios, pero su historia la contaremos en un futuro post.
Many plants adorn the spaces of the different schools of the faculty but there is one that stands out in particular and gives a particular sense of identity to our beloved Faculty of Sciences and those are the great Chaguaramos. The great Royal Palm or Chaguaramos (Roystonea oleracea) is a species of palm from the Arecaceae family and is native to the Lesser Antillean chains, that is, from Puerto Rico through Panama, Colombia and Venezuela. This monocotyledonous silver is characterized by its large wingspan, measuring up to 30 and 40 meters in height! It is the symbol of our state Yaracuy where it is considered the emblematic plant of the state. Due to their height, they become the perfect habitat for the Ara ararauna macaws, with their distinctive yellow and blue colors, who use the chaguaramos to make their nests and raise their chicks.
Muchas plantas adornan los espacios de las distintas escuelas de la facultad pero hay una que en particular destaca y le da un sentido de identidad particular a nuestra querida Facultad de Ciencias y esos son los grandes Chaguaramos. La gran Palma Real o Chaguaramos (Roystonea oleracea) es una especie de palma de la familia Arecaceae y son originarias de las cadenas antillanas menores, es decir desde Puerto Rico pasando por Panamá, Colombia y Venezuela. Esta plata monocotiledónea se caracteriza por su gran envergadura llegando a medir hasta los 30 y 40 metros de altura! Es el símbolo de nuestro estado Yaracuy donde es considerado la planta emblemática del estado. Por su altura se convierten en el habitáculo perfecto de las guacamayas Ara ararauna con sus distintivos colores amarillo y azul usan los chaguaramos para hacer sus nidos y criar a sus pichones.

A mi me impresiona lo bien que se mantienen esas instalaciones actualmente, lo celebro y lo aplaudo, ademas de que claro, es muy agradable trabajar rodeado de la naturaleza, mas aun si eres un biologo.
