My participation in the Reflection Hunters Contest - #SMARP round #257: First reflections on February! [Eng/Esp]
Hello esteemed Shadow Hunters community! We started the first week of February and I wanted to record my participation in this SMARP in its round #257. Most of the Araguaney trees are already beginning to bloom, so there are still a couple of weeks before we see them in full bloom. I'll try to get a good reflection to capture when that moment arrives.
One of the places where you can find one of these trees is at the university, specifically in the pharmacy faculty. I had to go there for the swearing-in ceremony of our representatives to the university professors' association, the authorities who represent us when it comes to defending our labor rights, and I hope they will, since we haven't had a salary increase in four years. But just as I was walking to the auditorium for the ceremony, I came across this glass door that brought back so many memories. I used to come here to do my doctoral thesis experiments, I made many valuable friends here, and I decided to take a couple of photos of the reflection in these large glass doors.

The day was bright and clear, so the reflection was quite sharp. What the glass door projected was mainly the parking lot and part of the faculty garden. If you look closely, you can see the trees are still green; the characteristic yellow flowers of the araguaney trees haven't yet bloomed. When they do, not only will the canopies of these trees turn yellow, but a kind of carpet of yellow blossoms will be created on the ground. I just hope that when they bloom, I can capture the reflection of such a natural phenomenon. For now, we can only observe the cars under the shade of these trees, and on a sunny day like the ones we're starting to have, they're a great relief. Now I understand why this parking lot is always full. I usually park at my university, which is practically an empty lot because there are hardly any trees.
Well, friends, this was my contribution to this week's SMARP. The dry season here in the Caribbean isn't taking long to arrive. That's right, friends, we only have two seasons here: the incredibly dry season and the rainy season. In theory, both should last six months, but the dry season is lasting longer and longer. Que tal apreciada comunidad de Shadow Hunters! Comenzamos la primera semana de Febrero y quise dejar constancia de mi participación para este SMARP en su round #257. Ya la mayoría de los Aragüaney están comenzando a echar sus primeras flores, así que todavía queda un par de semanas antes de verlos completamente floreados. intentaré conseguir un buen reflejo que capture cuando este momento llegue.
Un lugar donde se encuentra uno de estos árboles es en la universidad, específicamente en la facultad de farmacia, tuve que ir a estos espacios para el acto de toma de posesión de nuestros representantes en la asociación de profesores universitarios que son las autoridades que nos representan cuando se trata de defender nuestras reivindicaciones laborales, y espero que lo hagan ya que tenemos 4 años sin un aumento de salarios. Pero justo cuando iba camino al auditorio para el acto, me encontré con esta puerta de vidrio que tantos recuerdos me ha traído, pues solía venir aquí para hacer mis experimentos de la tesis doctoral, hice muchas amistades valiosas aquí y decidí tomarle un par de fotografías al reflejo que proyectan estas grandes puertas de vidrio.

El día estaba radiante y con cielo despejado, así que el reflejo se veía bastante nítido, lo que proyectaba la puerta de vidrio era principalmente el estacionamiento y parte del jardín de la facultad. Si te fijas bien, se pueden ver los árboles que aún están verdes, aún no florecen las características flores amarillas de los aragüaneys, cuando florezcan no solo se verán las copas de estos árboles amarillos sino también se creará una especie de alfombra de flores amarillas en el suelo. Solo espero que cuando florezcan pueda capturar el reflejo de semejante fenómeno natural. Por ahora solo podemos observar los autos bajo la sombra de estos árboles, y en un día tan soleado como los que estamos comenzando a tener son un gran alivio, ahora entiendo porque este estacionamiento esta siempre lleno, yo suelo estacionar en mi facultad que es prácticamente un solar porque casi no hay árboles.
Y bien amigos, este fue mi aporte al SMARP de esta semana, ya la temporada seca aquí en el caribe no se esta tardando en llegar, así es amigos, nosotros aquí solo tenemos 2 estaciones seca como el infierno y lluviosa. En teoría ambas deberían durar 6 meses pero cada vez la temporada seca esta durando más meses, supongo que debe ser por el cada vez más palpable cambio climático. Nos vemos en un próximo concurso donde intentaré atrapar el reflejo que les prometí. Saludos.
