Battery test and a little fog :-)
(Google translate from Czech)
Občas mívám „zvláštní“ nápady. Jeden takový nápad byl vyzkoušet „životnost baterie“ dronu (Potensic Atom) za nízké teploty vzduchu.
Příležitost nastala 30.11. po sedmé hodině ranní a teplotě vzduchu -1.5°C.

Sometimes I have “strange” ideas. One such idea was to test the “battery life” of a drone (Potensic Atom) at low air temperatures.
The opportunity arose on November 30th after seven in the morning and the air temperature was -1.5°C.

It was a matter of a few minutes to park the car, grab the bag with Tom and walk to the field by the Mrhal pond.

Očekával jsem let maximálně v délce 15 až 20 minut. Realita byla 10 minut a 18 sekund. O pět minut pod mé očekávání.
I expected the flight to be a maximum of 15 to 20 minutes. The reality was 10 minutes and 18 seconds. Five minutes below my expectations.

However, it has its “but”.
It was only when editing the photos that I noticed that the battery capacity before takeoff was 65%

Po letu byla kapacita baterie 5%.
After the flight, the battery capacity was 5%.

That’s what happens if I don’t check in advance how much the battery capacity has decreased since the last charge. For almost half capacity, it's actually an "excellent result" :-)

Of course, Tom didn't just "float" away. There's a recording of the entire flight on YT and you can watch it at the end of the article. Unfortunately, my video editing program crashed, so the video is a bit longer with a lot of "ballast".
Some screenshots from the video are here.

Apart from a small "snag" in the pre-flight preparation, I can be satisfied. The test flight at low air temperatures actually turned out to be "excellent" :-).

Ty zamlžené fotky by mohly uspět v #aroundtheworld... A sakra :))
Hmm. Tak to mají smůlu :-)

The orange background sky gives it that special touch; in this weather, you can't even tell it's a high-end camera.
What the sky offered is in the video and then in the pictures :-).
Potensic Atom has a very good camera but it lags behind DJ a bit.
Thank you for the comment and reading.
Nice shots. Love the tech specs and description. I did a similar test a couple years ago and didn't see much difference in actual flight time, although I did make sure to keep flight short and return to home with extra battery just to be safe. The Mavic 3 supposedly has a type of heater with the battery to perform better in cold weather.
As far as I know, the Potensic Atom does not have a battery heater. The manual even recommends against flying in temperatures below freezing. But most of the advice is to not follow it :-).
Thank you for reading and commenting. Have a nice week.
