Wczoraj w Mons odbyła się Lumeçon, czyli finalna walka świętego Jerzego ze smokiem. Ku zaskoczeniu wszystkich ponownie wygrał św. Jerzy. Jak zwykle najwięcej emocji było w trakcie przygotowania smoka do walki, kiedy to zebrany na placu tłum walczył o smoczy włos. Zgodnie z tradycją zdobycie takiego włosa ma zapewnić szczęście na kolejny rok. Walka mnie ominęła, bo byłem w pracy.
[ENG] Yesterday, the Lumeçon, the final battle between Saint George and the Dragon, took place in Mons. To everyone's surprise, St George won once again. As usual, the greatest excitement was during the preparation of the dragon for the battle, when the crowd gathered in the square to compete for the dragon's hair. According to tradition, winning such a hair would bring good luck for the following year. I missed the fight because I was at work.
W czasie wczorajszego spaceru połączyłem się z mamą przez Skype, w ten sposób wspólnie sobie spacerowaliśmy po bazie :) Żona była zdziwiona, że rozmawiałem z mamą przez blisko godzinę. Zwykle jak dzwonię do mamy z domu i zaczynam rozmawiać to po pięciu minutach wtrąca się żona i przejmuje konwersację, nie dając mi dojść do słowa. A później dostaję opierdziel, że z mamą tak mało rozmawiałem.
[ENG] During yesterday's walk, I connected with my mum via Skype, so we walked around the base together :) My wife was surprised that I had been talking to my mum for almost an hour. Usually when I call my mum from home and start talking, my wife jumps in after five minutes and takes over the conversation, not letting me get a word in edgewise. And then I get scolded for not talking to my mum enough.
