Today I was called to take photos of a very restless little girl for her second birthday, and this is what happened.

Once the parents had prepared the girl, we took her to the place where they wanted the photos taken with her first dress. There, the girl was moving around a lot, and the mother was trying to force her to smile, but it didn’t look natural. My solution was to increase the shutter speed to capture her as naturally as possible, because I’ve always said that one of the most beautiful things about a child is their naturalness and spontaneity.

I calmed the mother down and gave the little girl a flower. She simply sat down and looked at the flower, and in that moment, I took the photo that the mother loved—and so did I. The way she looked at the flower was so beautiful, and her dress matched the background perfectly, resulting in a lovely image.

Later, with the second dress, it was a bit harder to capture the right shot. We went to a small park nearby. The mother changed her outfit, and we headed to the location. Here, the little girl didn’t want pictures—she just wanted to play. She was all over the place, running around and climbing the attractions there.

I asked my girlfriend to get on a seesaw with her, and at that point I had to increase the shutter speed even more, since there was a lot of movement and it was a bit tricky. But in the end, I managed to get the shot that the mother absolutely loved. She even wanted to add some text underneath the image to mark the occasion of her daughter turning two.

This session, being one of my first with such a young child, made it even clearer to me that the most beautiful thing about a child is when they are captured naturally and spontaneously. So photographers—crank up that shutter speed! Hahaha.

Hoy me llamaron para tirar unas fotos de 2 añitos a una niñita muy intranquila y eso fue lo que pasó.

Cuando ya los padres habían preparado a la niña, la llevamos al lugar donde querían tirarle las fotos con su primer vestido. Aquí la niña se movía mucho y la mamá la forzaba a reírse y no salía natural. Mi opción fue poner la velocidad alta para captarla lo más natural posible, porque siempre he dicho que una de las mejores cosas que tiene un niño es su naturalidad y espontaneidad.

Calmé a la madre y le di una flor a la niña. Ella solo se sentó y miró la flor, y en ese momento saqué la foto que a la madre le gustó y a mí también. La niña miraba la flor de una manera muy bonita y su vestido hacía juego con el fondo, quedando este resultado.

Luego, en el segundo vestido fue un poco más difícil de capturar, ya que fuimos a un parquecito que se encontraba cerca. La madre la cambió y fuimos al lugar. Aquí la niña no quería fotos, quería jugar. Y era intranquila e iba de un lado al otro, jugando y subiéndose en las atracciones de allí.

Le dije a mi novia que se montara en un cachumbambé con ella, y aquí tuve que subir aún más la velocidad, ya que el movimiento era bastante y costaba un poco, pero al fin pude sacar la foto que a la madre le gustó muchísimo. A esta le quiso poner un texto debajo para que quedara constancia de que eran sus dos añitos.

Esta sesión, siendo una de mis primeras con un niño así, me dejó aún más claro que lo más bonito de un niño es cuando lo hace natural y espontáneo. ¡Así que fotógrafos, suban la velocidad! Jajaja.
