Wow, that is impressive. I think it is awesome that you are just like "eh flights here are cheap, let's go!". I wish I had that kind of freedom and motivation!

We had planned our Istanbul trip for a couple of months already but pulled out the last minute due to the protests. I looked for the cheapest ticket and found Pula, which at that time I did not know about and booked it immediately. It cost us around £80 per person, which to be honest, I couldn't even get a return train within UK for that price.
That's awesome! I'm sorry your original plan didn't work out though.
