Another flashback to 2020 in Patras, this time beginning of November. Time for something new. Until then I had found only very occasionally a dead hermit crab, but on this day, it would change.	Wieder mal ein Rückblick auf 2020 in Patras, diesmal Anfang November. Zeit für was Neues. Bis dahin hatte ich nur ab & zu mal einen toten Einsiedlerkrebs gefunden, aber das sollte sich ändern:

But before I went to the coast, I found another of the ubiquitous iconostasia, only this one was of a rather uncommon kind. It looked like a small bookshelf & instead of installing it on the ground as usual, it was put on a wall.	Jedoch fand ich auf dem Weg zur Küste wieder eine dieser allgegenwärtigen Iconostasia, der ungewöhnlichen Art. Sah aus wie ein kleines Regal & anstatt wie üblich auf dem Boden auf eine Mauer montiert.

Inside were the common paraphernalia, though. Seemingly of good quality. Also quite common that it commemorated a young man. Seems like they are way more probable than other population cohorts to die in traffic accidents in Greece.	Enthielt die üblichen Paraphernalien, wenn auch in guter Qualität. War auch sehr üblich, daß es einem jungen Mann gewidmet war. Scheint so, als seien diese deutlich häufiger als andere in tödliche Verkehrsunfälle verwickelt.

Then I came to the coast. At first, I thought there was nothing special, just the extremely common snails snailing around. But something was different, so I looked a little closer.	Dann kam ich an die Küste. Sah zuerst nichts besonderes, nur die extrem häufigen Schnecken. Aber diesmal war etwas anders, also sah ich genauer hin.

Are those legs, coming out of a snail shell? Yes, they are. Very interesting, particularly because they were close to the surface. But, well, I'm easy to distract:	Sind das Beine, die aus einem Schneckenhaus ragen? Jawohl. Sehr interessant, insbesondere, weil sie nahe der Oberfläche waren. Aber, nunja, ich bin leicht ablenkbar:

The sunset was really nice. I'm just a sucker for orange. But back underwater:	Richtig netter Sonnenuntergang. Geht nichts über Orange. Aber zurück unter Wasser:

Another hermit crab maybe? Nah, just a common snail, with a couple of what looks like barnacles. But I didn't have to look long.	Vielleicht noch ein Einsiedlerkrebs? Nö, nur eine gewöhnliche Schnecke, anscheinend mit einigen Seepocken. Mußte aber nicht lange suchen.

This one had chosen a very pink shell. Came to be my favourite, because it stayed close to the surface & I could take a lot of photos. Don't know what species it is, though. Had no idea that there are so many hermit crab species.	Dieser hatte ein sehr rosa Haus gewählt. Sollte mein Liebling werden, da er nah an der Oberfläche blieb & sich gern fotografieren ließ. Weiß aber leider nicht, welche Art es ist. Hatte keine Ahnung, wieviele Einsiedlerkrebsarten es gibt.

Now, what's that? Another first off? Some kind of shrimp turned up. Very well camouflaged, hard to see. No wonder then, that I found this one more by accident than anything else.	Nanu, was jetzt? Noch eine Neuheit? Eine Art Shrimp tauchte auf. Gut getarnt, schwer zu sehen. Kein Wunder also, daß ich diesen eher durch Zufall fand.

Looking a bit closer, but still hard to see. Have also no idea what species that is. Maybe not a shrimp at all.	Ein näherer Blick, aber immer noch schwer zu sehen. Auch keine Ahnung, welche Spezies. Vielleicht nicht mal ein Shrimp.

Ah, that sunset.	So ein Sonnenuntergang.

Zooming out, it doesn't look so impressive, but I like the colours & the cloud structure.	Im Weitwinkel sieht es nicht so toll aus, aber mir gefallen die Farben & die Wolkenstruktur.

In the north, something was brewing, though.	Im Norden braute sich jedoch etwas zusammen.

Back into the water. Another hermit crab in a smaller shell. Hard to see, but the legs are sticking out.	Zurück ins Wasser. Ein weiterer Einsiedlerkrebs in kleinem Haus. Schwer zu erkennen, aber man sieht die Beine.

This one is feeding on some algae. It shows some nice blue neon lights.	Dieser frißt gerade Algen. Zeigt dabei schöne blaue Neonlichter.

The sun was almost gone by then. The clouds only got more interesting. Had to zoom in:	Da war die Sonne schon fast weg. Die Wolken wurden aber interessanter. Mußte ranzoomen:

Very nice, with an added birdy touch.	Sehr schön, noch dazu mit Vogel.

The one with the violet spot again. Was the most active, it seems.	Wieder der mit dem lila Fleck. War anscheinend der aktivste Krebs.

This one was a bit deeper in the water, sadly. Had a very interesting shell.	Dieser war etwas tiefer im Wasser. Leider, denn er hatte ein interessantes Haus.

Best view of the legs (with those white & red stripes at the tip) & claws.	Bester Blick auf die Beine (mit den rotweißen Streifen an der Spitze) & Zangen.

By then, the sun was completely gone & it was getting very hard for me to see the hermit crabs in the water. So, I let them be & went home. & that's it for today, now just a few more pics:	Da war die Sonne schon untergegangen & es wurde sehr schwer, die Einsiedlerkrebse im Wasser zu sehen. Also ließ ich sie in Ruhe & fuhr nach Hause. & das war's für heute, jetzt nur noch ein paar Bilder:
