Sea-Mountain-Sea View / Meer-Berg-Meer-Blick #148

Not much of a flashback today. For a change, this is from Durres, a day in mid-January. I was looking for an apartment to rent & went to a few real estate agencies in the south of Durres. On the way back, I walked along the beach.	Heute mal kein echter Rückblick. Zur Abwechslung geht es um Durres an einem Tag Mitte Januar. Suchte gerade eine Mietwohnung & war bei einigen Agenturen in Süddurres. Auf dem Rückweg ging ich den Strand entlang.

Before I focused on the ground, I was looking at the buildings as well. Again, I noticed an issue with construction quality in Albania, reminding me very much of China.	Bevor ich mich dem Boden widmete, fielen mir einige Gebäude auf. Die mangelnde Bauqualität in Albanien erinnerte mich in vielen Fällen doch sehr an China.

Numerous buildings in Durres had such holes in their walls. One issue may be the plaster, but the bigger problem are these bricks, me seems. This kind of hollow brick is the favoured building material for non-supporting walls. The bricks are apparently very brittle & break if you only look at them.	Zahllose Gebäude in Durres hatten solche Löcher in den Außenwänden. Ein Problem mag der Putz sein, aber schlimmer sind diese Ziegel, scheint mir. Diese Art Hohlziegel ist dort sehr beliebt für nicht-tragende Wände. Die Ziegel sind anscheinend sehr brüchig & fallen schon auseinander, wenn man sie nur schief ansieht.

Finally, my attention focused on the beach. Although, the first thing I noticed was not really of the sea. Don't know how this lower jaw ended up on the beach. Perhaps some sailors had a great feast on their ship & threw the bones over board.	Schließlich widmete ich mich doch dem Strand. Allerdings war das erste, was mir auffiel, eher landgebunden. Keine Ahnung, wie dieser Unterkiefer auf dem Strand landete. Vielleicht hatten einige Matrosen ein Festmahl auf ihrem Schiff & schmissen die Knochen ins Meer.

Someone was very interested in snails. Unlike the first time I was at the Durres beach, I found quite a number of snail shells. It seems, they appear only at certain parts of the coast line, where there is not so much sand.	Jemand hatte großes Interesse an Schnecken. Anders als beim erstenmal am Strand von Durres, fand ich einige Schneckenhäuser. Scheint so, als kämen sie nur an bestimmten Strandabschnitten mit weniger Sand vor.

But of course there were clam shells as well. Here's another Chamelea gallina. The most common kind in Durres.	Aber natürlich gab es auch Muschelschalen. Hier ist wieder eine Gemeine Venusmuschel. Die häufigste Art in Durres.

Someone was hungry. Don't ask me for the species. In the upper left corner could some kind of oyster. The partially orange one could be from the genus Bursidae, a frog snail. But there are so many similar-looking species, that I have no real clue.	Da war jemand hungrig. Keine Ahnung, welche Arten das sind. Oben links in der Ecke könnte eine Art Auster sein. Unten links könnte eine aus der Familie der Froschschnecken sein. Gibt aber soviele ähnlich aussehende Arten, daß ich mir nicht sicher sein kann.

This could be Steromphala cineraria or another kind of Trochidae. Snails like this are very common at the coast of Patras in Greece, but I have found very few in Durres, not even on rocks.	Dies könnte eine Graue Kreiselschnecke oder eine andere Art der Trochidae sein. Solche Schnecken sind in Patras sehr häufig, aber in Durres fand ich extrem wenige, selbst auf Felsen.

Another Bursidae snail shell?	Noch eine Froschschnecke?

Orange beauty. Perhaps a Leufroyia leufroyi. All other similar-looking snails I found were not endemic to the Mediterranean.	Orange Schönheit. Vielleicht eine Leufroyia leufroyi. Andere, ähnlich aussehende Schnecken, die ich fand, kamen nicht im Mittelmeer vor.

Another nice & rather uncommon (for me in Durres) one. Probably some kind of dog whelk, my guess is Tritia mutabilis.	Noch eine hübsche & eher seltene (für mich in Durres) Art. Vermutlich eine Wandelbare Nassa aus der Familie der Nassariidae.

I won't even try to identify that one. Looks nice on that bed of dead seaweed, though. Speaking of dead seaweed:	Da versuche ich nicht mal eine Identifikation. Sieht aber nett aus, auf dem Bett aus totem Seegras. Wo wir gerade bei totem Seegras sind:

Parts of the Durres beach are swamped by dead seaweed. But in spots where there is not so much, the water running back into the sea can create some very nice structures.	Teile des dortigen Strandes werden von totem Seegras überschwemmt. Wo es weniger schlimm ist, kreiert das ins Meer zurücklaufende Wasser sehr interessante Muster.

Well, it's all a matter of personal taste, but I like it. Hmm, but wait, what is there in the middle of the photo?	Naja, alles eine Sache des Geschmacks, aber mir gefällt's. Hmm, Moment mal, was ist denn das in der Mitte des Fotos?

Another nice clam shell. This is probably Mactra stultorum or rayed trough shell, which is also quite common in Durres. & that's it for today, now just a few more pics:	Noch eine nette Muschelschale. Dies ist wohl ein Strahlenkörbchen. Diese Art sieht man in Durres auch recht häufig. & das soll's für heute gewesen sein, jetzt nur noch ein paar Bilder:
