Affordable is of course a very broad term ;-)
But I'm mostly using:
https://www.hetzner.com/
and
https://www.scaleway.com/en/
Pretty pleased by both of them actually.

I !HOPEd to see hosting providers that accept Hive or other cryptocurrencies as payment, or at least those that I haven't explored yet. πŸ€”πŸ€― Thanks for listing (some of) the providers that you use though! πŸ€—πŸ˜…

The only one that does accept crypto./Hive that I know of is Privex, and I'm not hearing good things about them lately (not using them myself).
I also use two local hosting providers, but they are quite expensive (easily 3-4x the other prices, so I don't see the need to recommend them :-)

I think that the VPS and dedicated hosting plans on #Privex currently look expensive !INDEED. πŸ€”πŸ€―

Anyway, I mentioned #Privex to @tydynrain on a comment half an hour ago, where I said that many people on Hive hosting their Hive Witness nodes there or on mainstream hosting providers is generally discouraged. πŸ€―πŸ€“πŸ˜…

That is indeed an issue... way too many people are using Privex, which means that when Privex is under attack, half of Hive is down. Which is why I spread my servers around, geographically where possible, and over different providers, to keep things as decentralized as possible. I also don't use VPS, but bare metal, with full access to everything, except physically touching the hardware (although that is almost virtually possible...).

Maybe you would like to rent out your bare metal servers to people by splitting them into multiple VPS. πŸ€”πŸ€― That way, you could recoup some (or even all) of the costs of renting those servers, while being able to help other people rent servers (especially those here on Hive) with lower costs (and some of your assistance). πŸ€—πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜Ž

Anyway, you might have forgotten that the BEER token tipping bot doesn't want to see more than one bot command on the same comment with the BEER token tipping command, and that the LUV token tipping bot has been disabled by its owner/operator for almost 2 months. πŸ€”πŸ€―πŸ€“

Well.. You can't even believe all the things that I have forgotten in the past 2 months ;-)
The !BEER command did work in a few cases yesterday though...

The BEER bot sometimes appears drunk with too much BEER though, which causes it to fulfill BEER token tipping commands on some comments despite such comments having a myriad of bot commands. πŸ€”πŸΊπŸ»πŸ€―πŸ˜†πŸ˜…

I think it is using a (hardcoded?) list of bot commands to search for, which is not yet fully up to date with the current set of bots...

The official comment from the BEER bot operator literally says use the BEER command only alone and don't mix this with other "!" commands. πŸ€”πŸΊ That means it does not matter what the bot command is, but if a word starts with an exclamation mark, then it will be assumed to be a bot command by the BEER token tipping bot. πŸ»πŸ€―πŸ˜…

That's what the doc says, but not necessarily what the code says :-D Don't know though, I haven't seen either :-D
I do know that I sometimes use !BEER, without really thinking about too much of the details, and often it just works :-D

Whenever @savvyplayer (or I used to before) wanted to tip the BEER token, they would first make sure that there are no other bot commands on any of their comments with the BEER token tipping command. πŸ€”πŸΊπŸ€―πŸ˜…

@savvytester is taking a lot of time just to think of a good reply to your comment there, so I would say "okay" here on their behalf! πŸ€―πŸ˜†

But before your answer got redirected to /dev/null (an infinite number of times), it got published here on Hive first. 🀯🀣

I assume that you mean that the answer you had to @savvyplayer there got redirected to two places - both here on Hive and to /dev/null with the "double redirect" on your comment there. πŸ€”πŸ€―πŸ€―πŸ˜…
