SUN & RAIN

It was raining last night and then today, the whole morning was cloudy but without the rain. At half past noon, give or take a minute or two, the weather turned sunny. I mean, it was sunny everywhere but a small gray cloud remained right above my house. And that small, cartoonish cloud decided to deliver a bit of rain when it seemed that the cloudy, rainy weather was over.

The falling raindrops, lit by the intense midday sunlight, looked like sparks.

When animated in GIF format, they looked even better.

In this wide shot that shows a good chunk of my yard, the raindrops aren't visible. I had to focus on a smaller area to make the rain look good in the photograph.

As you can see in this photograph, my first attempt at catching the raindrops with my camera wasn't very successful. The rain was visible but the composition was too muddled, chaotic, and dull.

Fortunately, I soon noticed how good the raindrops looked against the neat blurred background provided by the facade of the house across the street.

The leaves and branches on the top of my elderberry tree were a nice addition to the composition.

I made each GIF using a series of consecutive shots I took with an animation in mind.

Here you can take a look at the blue sky and fluffy clouds above me. The tiny white dots visible when you enlarge the picture, are the sparse raindrops. The photograph was taken when the gentle rain was almost over.

While I was trying to find the best way to catch the rain, some of my cats were resting, sniffing, and playing all around me. The male in the foreground of this shot is called Bembo. Behind him, also on the table, you can see another male. That one is called Palchich. Small, in the background, is the female called Sivka.

Soon after I took these photographs, only about ten to fifteen minutes later the rain cloud above my neighborhood dissolved completely. Less than an hour later the sky was completely clear and it stayed that way until the sunset.
It was a nice, relatively warm afternoon, but I stayed home and continued preparing macro photographs for future posts of the "MACRO OCTOBER IN MARLERA" series.
The unexpected sunny rain gave me an opportunity to make a nice little break from the slightly tedious indoor activities in front of the computer screen and definitively made this Saturday better. It also gave me an opportunity to publish another post today and harvest more upvotes in a strictly legit way.

😊😊 trying to capture the rain drop when Is not too heavy is a very difficult task, I love you spirit in continue trying. Your cat looks so cute and they are so big, they must to more than 10years older.
