SOME REFLECTIONS IN THE CITY OF PORECH for the Reflection Hunters Contest ~ Round 98

avatar

I spent the entire morning rambling around the city of Porech ten days ago. Among many photographs that will appear in one of the future posts, I also caught some reflections for this round of the contest.

(Enlargeable)

Here you can see a fragment of the city reflected in the glass partitions of a closed restaurant.

(Enlargeable)

Porech is a small coastal city. Or a fairly large seaside town. I don't know which term defines the place better. The restaurant is on the large square near the harbor and the seaside promenade so, from a certain angle, you can see some luxury boats reflected in the glass.

Here you can see the friend who was there with me passing by the mirror glass partitions of another building. This was somewhere on the outskirts of the city's old center, and a friend of mine was accompanied by her reflection. Reflections of people and things near the mirror were sharp but further from the glass, things were getting blurred.

Here you can see the blurred old part of the city on the peninsula across the bay. In the following photograph ...

... a passerby is passing through the scene. You can clearly see the difference between the close and distant stuff here.

Here you can see me and the friend I mentioned before reflected in the same mirror glass of the same building. The photograph was taken from the other side of the street, and I like its atmosphere and composition, so I decided that this gonna be the contest entry.

On the same building, between the supermarket entrance and the cash machine, there was another reflecting glass. All things reflected there were equally sharp.

Later I passed by another relatively modern building with many reflecting surfaces. The upper windows were reflecting the windows of the building across the narrow street that leads into the older part of Porech.

Here I zoomed in on one of those first-floor reflections. The ornate window of the neighboring building is reflected in a simple frame of that relatively modern one.

Here you can see the large scene reflected in one of the glass partitions on the ground floor of the building.

I caught this reflection while passing by a line of parked cars. The Toyota logo looks a bit like some mysterious object that floats above the street.

Soon I passed by this traffic mirror ...

... that provided a slightly distorted reflection of the scenery.

On the way back to my car parked half a kilometer from the old part of the city, I noticed this lovely reflection on the glass of an advertising board.

The buildings across the street merged with the poster for the street art festival, creating a new and probably accidental piece of graphic design.

AND THAT'S IT. HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS COLLECTION OF REFLECTED STUFF. AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK.

THE END
