LOW TIDE IN VIZULA

avatar

Vizula is a small peninsula near the main harbor of Medulin, the small town where I live.

(Enlargeable)

In this opening photograph, you can see the small auxiliary harbor in one of the inlets of Vizula. When the tide is exceptionally low ...

(Enlargeable)

... quite a few small boats can be seen stranded in the mud.

(Enlargeable)

The bay of Medulin is overall pretty shallow ...

(Enlargeable)

... but that shallowness is even more pronounced in the waters around Vizula.

(Enlargeable)

If you take a good look at all the details shown in this photograph, you'll notice an oval shape in the mud.

The thing looks almost like a fossil. These are the remains of a small boat that sank into the mud long ago.

(Enlargeable)

The boat shown in this photograph is still safely situated on the surface of the mud.

(Enlargeable)

In this shot, the same boat is stranded on the muddy shore but you can also see a small speedboat floating in the shallows.

(Enlargeable)

Here you can take another look at the wider scenery.

(Enlargeable)

While I was busy photographing the boats and the scenery, this small bird was resting protected by the thorns of the Paliurus spina-christi.

(Enlargeable)

Can't tell you what bird this is.

(Enlargeable)

This photograph shows nothing in particular. Just a stretch of mud and a few stones in the corner of the shot.

(Enlargeable)

Here you can see my shadow in the foreground. It's a bit like a signature.
In the following photograph ...

(Enlargeable)

... you can see an old car tire lying on the surface of the mud.

(Enlargeable)

Here you can take one last look at the bay when the tide is low. The post ends here. As always on Hive, the photographs are my work.

@borjan, Friend,You have taken very beautiful and very detailed photographs. Very beautiful photos of a boat submerged in mud, a bird resting in a pond, an old tire stuck in mud, etc. I liked it very much. Thank you.

I wonder if some of the boats are still being used. Lovely captures though!

I am quite imagining what might have been wrong for the small boats over there

This place is quite relaxing when no body present. I think you like this place because in many posts you have talk about it. No doubt a great place to spent time.

The pictures are so beautiful. Its seems to be the bay becomes shallow, and boats get stuck in the mud. There are old things like a sunken boat and a car tire in the mud, showing that people used this harbor in the past. It also makes us think about how these things might affect the environment

Me thinking how that bird survive sitting on that thorn tree, because I wouldn't even dare take my finger close there not to talk more of sitting on it😂
Before photos, the old car tire looks beautiful in that mud.

Nice shots as always, the scenery has a calming and soothing effect. I like the shot of the bird perched.

The captured snapshots of a moment that seems to be instantly irretrievable have one thing in common: it is the silence that hovers over everything and that keeps Vižula enveloped in it.
Be it the water of the Adriatic, here in Istrian Bay, the barge leaving only its "fingerprint" in the sand, the old tyre or the little blackbird feeling safe in the branches of the acacia.
