IN THE FIRST DAYS OF JUNE 2015

Those old good summer days were funny & sunny for the most part ...

(Enlargeable)

... and so are the photographs I'm presenting today. You can see me tasting a homegrown tomato in this opening tryptich. The selfies were taken with a little help from my always-reliable bathroom mirror. In the following set of four inspired selfies ...

(Enlargeable)

... taken in the same bathroom that I'm still using for all the usual bathroom stuff, I'm having some fashion fun with a roll of simple, white toilet paper. With a bit of imagination, I turned the shit-related thing into a lovely, fashionable cap.

This small island in the sea of grass is made of flowers. The lovely white flowers of the Anthemis cotula plant. In the following photograph ...

... you can take a better more up-close look at some of those flowers. You can also see the Chlorophorus sartor, a beetle from the Cerambycidae family.

After leaving the floral islet ...

... I came across a small butterfly in the sunny open meadows of Marlera, the coastal area near the village of Liznjan.

(Enlargeable)

This is the Thymelicus lineola, a species from the Hesperiidae family.

Not far from there, a spider from the Araneidae family has built its elegant web.

This is a small juvenile Neoscona adianta spider.

(Enlargeable)

This is me again. I'll keep reappearing throughout today's post. I used the most beautiful pot lid I could find in my kitchen for these four bathroom selfies. The following photograph ...

... was taken outdoors. In Marlera. A bushcricket nymph is resting on the tall stem of the grass. Can't tell you what species exactly is this. The family is Tettigoniidae.

Here you can see a friend of mine. She's holding a Star Wars toy. It looks like some Darth Vader relative. Or Darth Vader himself. I don't know. Haven't seen those movies recently and my memories are a bit misty & confused.

This and the previous shots were taken in one of the big supermarkets on the outskirts of the city. The city in question is Pula. In the following photograph ...

(Enlargeable)

... I'm posing with some kind of Power Ranger toy or something like that. Can't tell you where the character shown here is from. A cartoon? Comic book? A movie? I don't know. It reminds me of Power Rangers. This is a scene from the toy department of the same suburban supermarket.

I'm with Darth Vader (or some closely related creature) here. Believe it or not, we haven't bought any of these toys.

The little dog shown in this shot is called Bepina. Bepina died a couple of years ago.

These are Pancho & Pepi. My two big dogs.

(Enlargeable)

They died as well a couple of years ago.

The photographs are funny but thinking about dead friends is bittersweet at best.

This photograph was taken in Marlera. Early in the morning.

The dried-out vegetation was covered with dew.

The spider shown here is Neoscona adianta. Again. The species already appeared earlier in the post. Just like before, it's a juvenile spider. But is slightly bigger and older than the previous one, so it doesn't look the same.

In this set of six evening shots, you can see a common Eurasian hare (Lepus europaeus). The light was very low so the photographs are muddled and grainy.

(Enlargeable)

In this tryptich made of three uninspired selfies, I'm posing in front of the bathroom mirror with some very ordinary outfit on and without anything weird or creative to cover my head.

(Enlargeable)

Here you can see a set of sic old shots from the living room floor.

This is the Sympetrum fonscolombii, a very common dragonfly from the Libellulidae family. The insect was photographed somewhere on the outskirts of Medulin, my hometown. In the following two shots ...

(Enlargeable)

... I'm simulating a meditation in the same area.

(Enlargeable)

On the 1st of June 2015, while walking along one of the narrow streets of Medulin, my hometown, I noticed a small sea snail shell embedded in the
walkway by the side of the road. In the following photograph ...

(Enlargeable)

... you can take a better, more up-close look at that shell.

(Enlargeable)

I took plenty of selfies in those days.

This sunset shot was taken in Marlera.

The post ends with an early morning selfie. I'm eating the homemade blackberry jam in this last photograph.

THAT'S ALL. AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK.

It's nice to see the sea of flowers. They looked beautiful even from afar.

The little butterfly looks very beautiful, there are many small hairs on her body, besides that she has beautiful eyes

You look fantastic in that black cat. I have seen you meditating a lot. how do you feel about it? and what are the changes you felt in your doing these meditations?

Well, in these photographs I'm only pretending to meditate. 😀 Because I like how the pose looks in pictures. I don't know how to meditate that way. The closest thing to meditation I do is observing small things through the macro lens or just watching nature in general, in those moments I have some kind of meditative feeling. But I wasn't introduced to proper meditation, I saw only people doing it in movies and TV.

I actually love the way you store old pictures
Not a lot of people can do that

I got that hat in those years for my birthday. 😀 In 2013, I think. I use it rarely in everyday life activities, but for parties and selfies - is great.

Cannot but agree! bright impressions surely fade from everyday use, it is better to save such a jewel for special use-cases... not like !BEER, which never can become boring, right?
ps. I would love to see such a magic hat in a local store and buy it even pricy... but - alas ... I have not come across it yet.

They died as well a couple of years ago.

So sad to hear this. How did it happen ?

They reached old age. I mean, it was an old age for dogs.
