AN HOUR IN RAKOTULE

avatar

The photographs in this post were taken on the 23rd of August, this year. I heard about Rakotule before. It sounded like a name of a small town or village, so I went there convinced to find just that, a single town or village.

(Enlargeable)

On the 23rd of August, I found out that Rakotule, although considered a single settlement, is actually an area made of about a dozen small villages and isolated farms ...

(Enlargeable)

... scattered around the Church of St. Rocco.

Here you can see the friend who was there with me exploring the stuff shown and written on the boards near the church.

(Enlargeable)

Here we learned about the unique layout of the place called Rakotule.

(Enlargeable)

If you enlarge this photograph by clicking it, you can read the English version of the text and spare me the effort of composing a new set of sentences, specifically for the post.

While walking around the church, I had some fun photographing the elements on the facade.

This rounded window is the highest one. I mean, is situated high on the facade ...

... above the other two. The window in the following photograph ...

... was displayed on the building across the street.

That house had a nice variety of windows.

Here you can see the entire house, complete with the blue car parked just outside the yard.

(Enlargeable)

This thing that looks like a porch without the house was also photographed near the house mentioned before.

(Enlargeable)

Here you can see the old wagon stored there.

After sniffing around a bit ...

... I walked back to the church.

(Enlargeable)

While I was slowly walking ...

(Enlargeable)

... a man on the small tractor was approaching even slower from the opposite direction.

At one point ...

... a small dog came from the yard of the neighboring house to see what was going on in this quiet place.

Soon we entered the car, we took the road shown in this photograph ...

... and left the center of Rakotule. A couple of kilometers further ...

(Enlargeable)

... we stopped again. By the side of the road. At the edge of the fairly large fig orchard.

The recently picked fruits were nicely displayed ...

(Enlargeable)

... and this dog looked in charge of the little roadside stand.

(Enlargeable)

We talk a bit with the dog, and then ...

(Enlargeable)

... his human colleague came with more figs.

We bought two crates and then drove back home.

AND THAT'S IT. AS ALWAYS IN THESE POSTS ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK - THE END.

The town is not as small as you thought , well , you say that it is a group of small places that make the place more extensive , I read what it says and thus prevented you from putting more sentences :)
I wish you a happy start of the week

This place reminds me of some vampire stories, like churches hides some scary tales that people refused to mention. This is great tho, i also prefer quiet places and fiction inspired places like this🙌🙌

Such incidents happen constantly in life but we avoid them despite the fact that they are funny. Your pictures are like a story which I love. Thanks for sharing

Very strange church with so few window!! So, it would be quite dark inside the church.
Very quiet place and seems very sleepy which is good for afternoon nap!

Those figs look very fresh! I wanna have one kilo! Two crates are too heavy!

Yes, two crates are too heavy 😃 but it's easy to eat that quantity.

beautiful small town

Smalls towns have something that makes them special, it May be the feeling like they are frozen in time... or the warm of the People that live in it. Everyone knows each other, well and the end the conjuction of everything makes it special
