A SMALL DOSE OF BLACK & WHITE ARCHITECTURE

On the 23rd of September 2010, I photographed three relatively small, old churches in the area around Vodnjan. I mean, you'll see only one of the mentioned three churches in its entirety today in this post. Judging by the photographs stored in an old folder I hadn't opened for years, I was focused on details on that occasion.

There isn't much I can tell you about the church shown in this opening photograph, but fortunately, only its name will be enough to make the text under the picture long enough for this post that has only a few shots to offer and hasn't much to say.
With that said, it's time to write the name.
Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It would be great to have a Church of the Dirty Maculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary for comparison but I couldn't find one on the Internet.

Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, known also by its short nickname Concetta, was built on the foundations of the ancient oil mills from the 6th century. When exactly it was first built, I don't know, didn't find that information on the Internet. But I know that was restored in the early 20th century. In the following photograph ...

... you can see a detail from the rear of the building. The little, I don't know how to call that thing - an interesting series of holes? a ventilation thing? a window? - that cool little thing looks like a smiling alien or some kind of ritual mask when seen upside down.

Here I zoomed in a bit more. And you can see the same thing in the right position.

Here you can see a swarm of tiny flies around the small bell tower with no bell in it. I don't know what church this detail belongs to. The flying insects photographed in the backlight look like a sign or symptom of a mysterious angelic presence.

I could probably find the name of this church on the Internet. But I won't do it. I'm too sleepy for that shit - good night, god bless you.

Good morning. I just woke up. I mean, it isn't morning yet, only a couple of hours have passed since I fell asleep after a day of preparing the photographs for future posts, better and longer than this one.
The church in the last, closing photograph is the Basilica of St. Justin. Unfortunately, to my mind irreparably damaged by the omnipresent pop culture, Justin Freakin' Bieber is the first thing that comes to. Isn't that kinda tragic and funny at the same time? The church was probably built in the 12th or 13th century. It was renovated in the year 1400. I remember those good old medieval times from one of my previous lives when I was a king not just a pleb blogger in search of fortune, but that's another story, this silly one ends here - THE END

AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK. I MEAN I USED THE CAMERA TO MAKE THEM. IT'S A WORK OF MY CAMERA AS WELL. AH, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL NIGHT I HAVE IN FRONT OF ME RIGHT NOW.
