A MAN AND HIS CHIHUAHUA

The photographs you'll see in this post were taken in May 2015. it was late in the evening, I don't remember what I was doing and how we all met on that occasion, but two friends came to visit me, and I took a bunch of photographs with my small compact camera that had a nice night view setting among its options.

One of the two people I photographed that evening was Kristijan, a friend that I don't see very often lately. He is the protagonist of this opening shot. He, and his little dog that was going everywhere he goes back then.

I can't remember the name of Kristijan's chihuahua. Maybe it was Frida. Or Fedra. I think I knew some chihuahuas with those names. Or I saw them on TV, maybe.

While Kristijan and I were sitting and talking in my living room, another friend entered. His name is Denis, and he's introduced in this photograph.

Denis brought his violin, and Kristijan tried to make a bit of music, or some noise, at least, with that instrument. Just like I couldn't imagine Kristijan without a chihuahua in 2015, Denis was always appearing with the violin. Like a cricket in the famous fable that includes an ant too. You couldn't be sure that Denis without a violin is the real Denis not some shady, and potentially dangerous body snatcher from outer space.

And, yes, this post could have been as well titled " A MAN AND HIS VIOLIN". But "A MAN AND HIS CHIHUAHUA" sounded slightly better to me. And I know exactly why it sounded better. It's because of an old movie. "A BOY AND HIS DOG" is a 1975 movie that I discovered fairly recently, five or six years ago, on YouTube. It's a unique, bizarre, and imaginative science fiction in a post-apocalyptic setting with darkly comic overtones. The young Don Johnson was the boy, the boy & his dog were communicating telepathically, and I highly recommend this movie, not because is a masterpiece or anything like that, but because is a unique experience, and uniqueness is a rare virtue in any form of art, especially in movies. But remember, this is a B movie through and through, so expect some moments of shocking silliness and a few flaws along the way.

Unlike Kristijan, I see Denis almost every day lately. He is also part of the HIVE community, where he's known as @denisdenis. My little dog Bepina was also there when the photographs were taken, you can see her on the couch, near Kristijan in this photograph.

In this set of three photographs, Kristian is explaining something to Denis. That's kinda weird. 😂 Usually Denis, I mean @denisdenis can be seen explaining stuff to other people.

A friend called Melita was in the nearby room, in front of my PC. I had a very antiquated PC screen in 2015.
