Playing Vice City for the First Time
Uh-huh! That's right! π Only 23 years late to the party, but I am finally playing GTA: Vice City.
This isn't to say that I haven't played any GTA games. My first experience being in this universe was actually GTA: V, and of course, that was great!
I know that GTA was a revolutionary game for its time, and I may not understand what the appeal is for everyone else, but for me, it's the driving. That is the point, right?! π₯΄ Like, I get that the content was also revolutionary -- drug dealing and gang bangers -- missions are fun and everything, but I love being able to drive for hours, taking in all of the details. Blasting the tunes, observing the store fronts, watching NPC interactions, seeing the sky shift from day to night...
Vice City did a wonderful job of capturing that 80s vibe. The neon lights are my all-time favorite aspect of the game, along with the old-fashioned iridescent street lights.
There are so many details that make you nostalgic for a simpler time... Listening to Japanese Boy, driving around in a Honda CR-X Gen I. Watching people rollerblade -- nobody does that anymore!! π΅ Dry pressing clothes at the laundromat for a dollar?! π
So anyway, here are some of the screenshots that I have managed to capture so far! I hope you enjoy the universe of Vice City...
(The iconic Washington Mall with its sick neon lights π)
(Watching pedestrians rollerblading -- look at this π©! Sucha vibe...)
(Enjoying some of the views...)
(Speaking of views... The Ocean View Hotel! I love driving down this strip at night and taking in all of the lights)
(Car Wash π)
(Just a pileup that I created lol πΆ)
(Doing a sick jump, with the door wide open and the sun in my face π)
(Observing the billboards, like in any GTA game, is pure gold. This is the guitar shop, offering air guitars for $200 and wank booths!?)
(The Rockstar Games store, doing my part to complete the lineup lol)
("Eating brains in the land of the brainless" -- sums up modern society pretty well)
(The Pizza Store is also sucha vibe -- $5 meal deals! π±)
("The Well-Stacked Pizza π" also taking a moment to appreciate the old-school candy vending machines)
(The famous Vice City penπs! π I even circled it this time, in case anyone misses it lol)
(Little Haiti's "Welcome To Hell" sign)
(Doing some boating! π₯οΈ I actually quite enjoy driving the boats, I'm really good at it)
(It might be my first time playing Vice City, but you can't fool me -- I knew that was my man, Danny Trejo, the second I saw him π)
(Grocery store packed full of anything you may need!)
(Checking out the pharmaceutical menu while tripping out lol)
(Bitch 'N' Dog Food lol classic)
GTA Vice City is a great game despite its age. I hope you enjoy completing it. And after that, you could play San Andreas. Which is also a great game.
Regards n.n
It's extremely well done, I can definitely see its appeal for its time π the entire 80s culture is a wonderful feeling..
Thank you for the recommendation as well, I have it on backup π
Holy crap π first time seeing someone finish GTA V first and then play Vice City, well itβs finally done. You should try GTA III as well!
π a first for everything, right?! I have found going against the status quo is one of the best moves in gaming, you get to experience it for the first time after everyone else already has π I can only imagine playing GTA V for the first time today!
Thank you for the recommendation, someone said San Andreas, is that the same thing?!
So basically you play in this order:
GTA IV DLC:
The Lost and Damned
The Ballad of Gay Tony
I remember being a little kid back in 2007 maybe I went to the cyber to play this on the computers, I never did the main missions I just liked to drive around the city in a car or motorcycle, generate chaos, place tricks to unlock things hahaha you have brought me many memories, thank you very much.
No problem, I'm happy to have brought back some good memories π
Unfortunately I have been stuck on the COP LAND π π€¬ mission for the 50th try now, so I will probably upload another post soon! π
Very happy to see other people playing the gta series like me. Taking it back old school. I'm currently doing a playthrough of GTA San Andreas and i have been really into it. I love listening to the banter with the gang members and watching my streams chat talk about how "Wonderful" I'm at driving. Mind you I think I'm hot shit when i drive. xD The toons on the radio in these games are wonderful! I haven't played vice city but I'd assume they are just as good!
Yes Vice City is a wonderful option for the 80s vibes, I am in love π₯° I'm happy to hear you've been having a fun time playing as well, enjoy! π
