The Andalusian Gardens in Rabat, MOROCCO

Hello dear Hive Community, I hope this post finds you well! Today I want to show you around a bit more in the city center of Rabat near the Medina and take you to one of the local gardens.

There are not many places where you can find a little peace and tranquility away from traffic and the general public. The Andalusian Gardens, located just next to the Kasbah des Oudayas, is one such spot. Surrounded entirely by former palace walls dating back to the 13th Century, you are cut off from the rest of the world and taken to another time amidst birds and butterflies.

During the off-season you can appreciate the indigenous flora of North Africa while spring and summer offer you all the colours of European flowers and shrubs. It is a pleasant place to come to and sit while enjoying the mild winter sun. Once you have soaked in this timeless atmosphere you can move on to walk along the Marina of Rabat, which I will show you in the next post.

Here is a selection of photos of the Andalusian Gardens:

surrounding walls and pathways lined with rosemary shrubs

some of the flower beds are ready for spring planting

during summer this area is entirely covered by vines

there are many pathways leading to all corners and niches of the gardens

I hope you enjoyed my post and there will be more coming soon to show more of the country I love!
