Qurator's Photo Quest | Rule of Thirds - Bodiam Castle .
Hi everyone!
Back with another bucket list location - Bodiam Castle!
This incredible example of a private moated castle was originally built in 1385 with the intention of defending the river against French invasion should they head inland from Rye. From 1483 it was used as a residence until a civil war in 1641 when it was temporarily confiscated then returned to the family. It has since changed hands to different families over the centuries.

Words really can't do it justice- aesthetically pleasing design aside, just imagine that all I could hear was tweeting birds and insects chirping whilst the long shadows, reflection in the moat and the light of golden hour gently kissing the spires was icing on the cake.

I hope you don't mind this amount of coverage, I just want to share as much as possible. Every corner is full of details and the stunning evening light was changing along with the shadows!

The National Trust looks after the property around the castle and it doesn't permit takeoff so I found a footpath close by that is outside of the boundary to use for takeoff.
There is a footpath around the outside of the castle moat that remains open after the castle closes so I used it to walk onto the property to keep line of sight.
I can't wait to go back and visit in a different season!
Take care everyone.
