PhotoFeed Contest - Landscape - Atmospheric Arundel.

Hi everyone!

A few weeks ago I travelled down to the south coast to check out the town of Arundel and overlooked by the amazing castle perched on the top of a hill.

When I first arrived it was raining so I wandered around and had a bite to eat. In the afternoon, the wind picked up and the clouds were moving rapidly across the sky. That had me ducking and diving in and out of rain showers to capture the castle illuminated by the sun!

The first take off location was along the river to the south of the town. I wanted to fly along the river so I was able to get close to the buildings without drawing attention. (It was verrrry quiet!)

Second take off location was along a road just outside the east walls. Shooting into the sun was difficult but I'm happy with the edited results.

Forgive me for adding photos from (nearly) the same angles but as the sun illuminated this fortress, it really set it off and gleamed so I really wanted to capture as much variation in light as I could!

For the final location, I took off from a quiet street near a church to the west of the castle to catch the sun bouncing off the stone structures.

From the location alone, this impressive castle appears like a fairytale - rolling hills, stereotypical turrets & gatehouses, walls and manicured gardens.

I highly recommend visiting and I had a lot of fun to flying around and capturing some of the unique features. My favourite element is also the oldest - the central round stone structure called a Motte which was built around 1067. I really like the way it is incorporated into the overall layout.

Take care everyone, until the next time!

No need to apologise for multiple photos of the same angle. Sometimes we have to wait for the right conditions to get the shot. Looks like a challenging day weather wise but you got some great shots. Well done.
