Hi everyone!

Back with a post featuring a unique vessel.

This time Galeón Andalucía (sister ship of Nao Santa Maria) stopped of in Penzance due to high winds and rough seas en route to Liverpool as part of its tour of the UK.

She was present during Sail25 along with the BAP Union and hundreds of other vessels forming a flotilla through the city of Aberdeen.

Now she is back on the final stages of her tour. Walking along the prom to the harbour, the masts stuck out against the rooftops.

From the air, people walking around her and passing cars give a sense the scale.
From the ground, I got to see the details up close and personal. I never realised the true scale of this impressive replica before.

The amount of sailors required to operate such a vessel is surprising.

The weather was against me that day- gusts were high at over 30mph. Couple that with stormy clouds, it was quickly moving north east from Lands End so I ducked in and out of rain showers as they passed over!

To my delight, the sun even showed itself- albeit briefly so I quickly launched the drone again to take advantage of the better light. Forgive me for some of the views looking almost identical!

This last shot is a view of the town from the south. The foreground shows some ongoing ground work to improve a local park. Just behind it near the white fencing is a residential development.
