Exploring Nestle In Croydon.

Hello fellow Hiveans!

I've seen a lot of the 'Nestle building' whilst driving past it but as there was some lingering fog in the area, I thought I would throw up the drone to see what's going on.

Nestle owned the building for 70 years and moved out just over a decade ago.
A Chinese mega corporation bought the complex and land across the street for £10m with intent to invest £500m and turn it into a residential and shopping area. Planning permission was granted but for a few years no work was carried out.
In 2018 conversion work began, however it is unclear how far along the process was as just the concrete shell remains.

The company that owns it went bust and now the building stands as a towering monolith of past industry whilst newer and modern tower blocks continue to pop up all around it.

As the building is vacant, there is no minimum separation distance so it was really fun to fly in the area and as close as I dared.

There was no wind but it was pretty cold so I didn't hang about too long!

Also in the area are the museum of Croydon (above), Fairfield Halls (a theatre) and the local college with a unique design (below left).
