Deseándoles un feliz domingo; les cuento que el día de hoy tuve la oportunidad de conocer el famoso muelle de Puerto Colombia, aprovechando que mi amiga Manuela vive en este municipio del Atlántico le pedí que por favor me llevara a conocerlo.

Contándoles un poco de su historia el muelle fue construido en el año 1888 y fue considerado el más importante puerto marítimo en Colombia en los años de 1920; resulta que entre 1893 (Este fue el año de su inauguración) y 1936 este muelle funcionó como terminal marítimo en Colombia para el embarque y desembarque de mercancías y personas.

En el año 2009 debido al fuerte oleaje del mar y la falta de mantenimiento, varios tramos del muelle de Puerto Colombia colapsaron; para ser más precisos 200 metros, fue entonces cuando en el año 2016 comenzó el proceso para la remodelación de esta obra.

En el año 2019 inician la demolición del muelle desapareciendo así las ruinas del que fue uno de los muelles más largos del mundo y el 22 de Enero de 2022 inauguran el nuevo muelle que hoy en día se conoce y fue declarado como ''Bien de Interés Cultural de Carácter Nacional'' honrando la memoria de esa Colombia del siglo XX.

Este muelle esta ubicado en la plaza de Puerto Colombia y hoy en día es un lugar bastante turístico, Manu me cuenta que desde el final del nuevo muelle se puede observar parte del antiguo muelle que se rehúsa a desaparecer.

Sin duda es un sitio bastante turístico y placentero para visitar, porque además de tener una muy interesante historia y tener el placer de conocer un bien de interés cultural, tuvieron la idea de ambientar la plaza de puerto para que los turistas disfruten de sus ferias, murales y esculturas.
