Walking... More On The Spot

I recall a relatively recent walk, at the beginning of October, when the weather invited outdoor exercise - in other words, on a wonderful, warm, and sunny autumn day.

Since most of my walks are coffee-related, they usually end at a café, but this time the walk started after coffee...

Victory Square, Bucharest, Romania

This is where our walk will begin - a central location, at the intersection of the city's main routes. Here is the coffee:

Coffee, among its many other qualities, also has the ability to energize, and so, full of energy, we set off on our planned walk. A walk in a green area in the middle of the city. There is even an expression: "walk on the road." The road is called Kiselef Road.

Șoseaua Kiseleff (Kiseleff Road) is a major road in Bucharest, Romania. Situated in Sector 1, the boulevard runs as a northward continuation of Calea Victoriei. Source

Well, what I thought would be a long walk turned out to be more of a walk in place. That is, many steps in a minimal area. That's because we ran into a fair...

IMG_20251005_142057_1.jpg

On almost all my walks, I am accompanied by someone. Most of the time, I am with my wife, and sometimes with friends.

My wife and our friend are crazy about fairs, so there's no way we could pass up this one, which, as "luck" would have it, we stumbled upon on our way.

This fair was somewhat different from the ones I had visited before, as it was more dedicated to children, but their parents were not neglected either.

IMG_20251005_142107.jpg

And I must say that the children were delighted and interested.

IMG_20251005_142223.jpg

The children were greeted by an enthusiastic audience, most of whom were their relatives, as well as other curious onlookers like us.

IMG_20251005_142328.jpg

They couldn't go unnoticed, that's for sure, especially since children know best how to make noise!

IMG_20251005_142835.jpg

Leaving aside the children's candor and enthusiasm, we turned to something we really like: a symbol and image of autumn, the pumpkin.

IMG_20251005_142509.jpg

Children were also the primary beneficiaries...

IMG_20251005_142822.jpg

The pumpkin painting workshops were the most successful.

My walking companions also had their share of satisfaction and discovery.

Not all visitors were attracted by pumpkins or children. Such autumn fairs always come with food and drink—wine made in rural households and special barbecue dishes that cannot be found in the city.

Waiting in line for the good stuff.

The truth is that if you're not a vegetarian, it's hard to resist such temptations!

IMG_20251005_143933.jpg

We resisted.

Minimalism!

IMG_20251005_143955.jpg

The wine was mine...ha, ha.

And then, it was farewell to the fair discovered by chance in a parking lot on Kiseleff Road in Bucharest!

This story should have been told on a Wednesday, but since I've lost track of the days, I'm unsure when I actually published it. I hope you'll forgive me, because the story remains the same, regardless of when it was written or published.

I always start with photos when I want to write a blog. Photos remind me of places, events, and feelings that turn into words.

A wise saying goes that an image is worth a thousand words.

Everything depends on the beholder.

Make a point of looking around and up to see what you can find to get shots of that; otherwise, you may miss it.

This is one of the recommendations made by @tattoodjay for those who prefer walking and are used to sharing impressions and photos in his community, Wednesday Walk, every Wednesday, like this one today.

I loved seeing the children so excited about the fair and the joy there. The pumpkins! So varied, I love seeing them. And there was also a lot of nature. A very nice walk!

Thank you, and the same to you!
Unfortunately, unexpected and unpleasant things happen to us. We have to be confident that it will be resolved.

Exercise is essential for the good health of all of us. Whether we are old or young, we still have to exercise. And it is a fact that in October, when it is not so cold, we can do more of our outings and activities.
