Walking In The Rain

avatar

Walking in the rain can have its charms. Depending on your condition. Rain is generally associated with sadness, melancholy, and loneliness. That's my opinion, I mean it fits my more pessimistic personality and I remember that, especially in my teens and youth, when I was angry, a walk in the rain was the best medicine. The problem was that the rains weren't as frequent as my anger...

The most recent walk I had was in the rain. A good reminder of the old days.

Another walk through a small park that I love. It's the same Circus Park that I've featured in dozens of posts, after dozens of walks.

A small but quaint park, located practically between two very busy boulevards in the city of Bucharest. I say strange because this is the only place in the world where a flying saucer has landed and never left.

It is, in fact, the Circus building. It was called, in the last century, the Bucharest State Circus and now it is the Bucharest Municipal Circus.

The Bucharest Metropolitan Circus (Romanian: Circul Metropolitan București), also known as Bucharest State Circus, or Globus Circus, is a circus located at 15 Circului Alley in Bucharest, Romania.
Built in 1960-1961 by architects Nicolae Porumbescu, Nicolae Pruncu, and Constantin Ruleahe, the circus is listed in the National Register of Historic Monuments in Romania. It has a capacity of up to 1,850 seats.Source

I'm not interested in the Circus. There are two aspects that make me love this park. The first is the small pond. A pond where lotuses bloom in summer. It is the only place in Romania where these wonderful aquatic and exotic plants exist.

Now it's too early for lotuses. They are still sleeping at the bottom of the pond. I walk once a month, every month, in this place. With spring I look forward to seeing the first leaves of the lotuses. Now that it's too early, I'm content to watch the few wild ducks that have spent the winter here.

I like the way the pond looks in the rain...

This rain chased away almost all the walkers but is very good for the soil, for the plants, and for the vegetation. Already the trees have begun to bear leaves of a raw, fresh green.

The rain could do something special, it could empty the park of people. I was fine with both the deserted park and the rain, even though I wasn't prepared for the rain (i.e. I didn't have an umbrella or waterproof clothes).

And yet, youth and caring for her pet dog made one young girl ignore the rain.

The second reason I like this park is its resemblance, in my imagination, to a park in London, which I haven't visited but saw in an old movie, my favorite movie, Blow-up.

I had a nice, wet, solitary walk in Circus Park. It's early spring and thankfully there are spring flowers...

... but the last image I was left with was still the image of rain. It was a rainy walk!

even in the rain its such a beautiful walk

Unless its real cold I dont mind walking in the rain, even as I never use an umbrella and may get soaked and yet I still find it soothing, although walking in the rain I dont get my camera out to take photos as I dont like getting it wet

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk, Sorry last week was a bit rough for me and I not only did not get out for any walks, but also was not able to visit all the walks from last week, but feeling better this week and visiting posts again which is always fun for me to visit the walks from all around the world, getting a feel for communities where people live and what they see on their daily walks

It's true that many times we avoid going out when it's raining, but thanks to your story, you reminded me that walking in the rain can be a wonderful and refreshing experience for the soul. Thank you for sharing this emotional experience! I look forward to reading more about your adventures in the future. Big hug!

When a person is sad in his youth and it is raining, he goes out and enjoys the rain and forgets his sadness completely and starts reminiscing about his good times. As we see this lady has brought her dog along for a walk in the park. After the rain, the park looks even more beautiful because the way we see it, the green leaves and green trees are looking more beautiful because of the rain drops.

I'm surprised this is possible! It's worth a try in the hot summer rain.
