This Is Why I Love Poppies So Much

The first flower that tells me it's time to go sees the sea!

I was used to seeing the poppies on the way to the sea. I discovered that in Sozopol, Bulgaria, the poppies are right by the sea.

Those fragile flowers, the poppies, are very special to me.

I love the sea, I'm passionate about the sea and, of course, I also love summer. To keep the chronology correct, the first one I liked was summer.
Summer, my favorite season.
The sea came later in my preferences. That's for the simple reason that I came to the seashore late after I turned 18.

I was shocked by the beauty of the sea! When I refer to the sea, I think not only of the seascape. Everything by the sea and related to the sea I love.
The land by the sea, the towns, and villages, the people, both the inhabitants and the tourists. The food and drink. Animals, birds, and even some insects...

After discovering the sea, I wanted to see it as often as possible, at least once a summer. I always waited for the time to come, the end of spring and the beginning of summer, for the long-awaited trip to the sea. Walking every early summer to the sea, I noticed something in the fields by the road or railroad tracks I was traveling on.

I saw the color red. Seen from a distance, I could see red patches on the fields. I discovered that it was the color of poppies. Thousands and thousands of poppies on the roadside by the sea.

So the poppies became a harbinger of the time when I should go to sea. And so the poppies became one of my favorite flowers!
