The City Seen (not too) From Above

Entering the hotel room, the view from the window was the first thing that attracted me.

The height of the hotel room helped me to see part of the city to the edge.

The cathedral towers show the location of the old city.

I can see the hills surrounding the city quite well.

Traveling is a good reason to take as many photos as possible. Traveling is also a good reason to take lots of walks. Trips are, after all, very good for discovering new places. Sometimes they are not so new if we get used to visiting the same places over and over again.

Me, as much as I love seeing new places, I also love revisiting the ones I liked.

Sibiu, in Romania, is a place, a city worth visiting dozens of times... and that's really happening. Sibiu is one of the most important places to visit in Romania. It is a city full of history, it is one of the oldest cities inhabited since the eleventh century. The old town is surrounded by a defensive wall and includes buildings, permanently inhabited for over eight hundred years.

Walking along the narrow, sloping streets makes you think you're in the Middle Ages, only the rather saccharine presence of cars doesn't let you forget what century we're in.

Apart from history, art and culture are equally present in this city. In 2007 Sibiu was designated the European Capital of Culture. Mainly because of the famous International Theatre Festival, ranked as the second most important in Europe. This festival has been an important vector for the promotion of the city, the tens of thousands of tourists who come to the city for the festival are excellent promoters of the beauty of these places.

After visiting the city in July, I went again a few days ago, invited by a theatre director friend of mine, who had the premiere of a dance-theatre show. That's how I ended up living on the 7th floor of a hotel and from where I took a few photos from above, but not at great heights, just to see the edges of the city.

I like most the places where I can see the edges. Towns that are neither big nor very small. It's in these towns that the lifestyle is most pleasant.

I agree. When I travel, I take at least 500 photos and make kms by wanderig around. Once I travelled few years ago, I rememner my foot got blister due to too much walking. I also think that such kind of travelling could help us lose weight :)
