The Bridge That Brings Us Closer

avatar

This is a bridge of friendship and it is not a real bridge over water or over cliffs. It is a virtual bridge. Just as links and crossings have been built between different blockchains, I want to show that there are these invisible bridges in Hive too, between different communities. What we've all noticed, I think, is that our blogs are not so specialized that they strictly fit only one community's requirements, they could be published in multiple communities without fail. That's why I think we can nominate multiple communities when we publish. Of course, technically we can only publish in one community, but we can also use tags from other communities when posting. I don't mean cross-posting, I don't find it a popular and beneficial method.

This may or may not be to the liking of the moderators in the main community. I have observed both situations. This can be seen, from comments and upvotes.

This bridge I am thinking of may just be an acceptance, even a tacit one!

In this context, I want today to continue a walk, closer to #WednesdayWalk, from @tattoodjay's community, into @dswigle's community, #MarketFriday. Because I know there is mutual admiration between the owners of these communities, I'm sure I won't upset any of them!

In Wednesday's post, where I shared a small part of a great walk I took in the gardens of the Castle of Queen Mary of Romania, located in Balchik, Bulgaria - Some Small Parts of a Long Walk, I stopped with the story at a garden plateau where there are several villas, converted into places of hospitality, small hotels, and beautifully landscaped gardens.

Plus a splendid place to watch the sea from high above!

This photo can also be called a bridge. Because it also appeared in the post mentioned above and links these two posts.

Perhaps the lady in the picture, coincidentally my wife, wonders, romantically, what it would be like to be queen, this wonderful complex of gardens and villas belonging to her and existing only because it was her will. Just from her love of beauty and her power to make that love real.

Returning to that pleasant walk, this is the part of the visit that I will show you now.

I arrived at the second villa turned hotel. When I say hotel I feel I'm doing something wrong because it doesn't look like a hotel. It looks more like a bigger house made for friends, for friends' meetings. The villa has eight rooms.

Now that I'm looking at the photos of this villa again, I realize it's bigger than it appears in my head. It may be a home for friends but not everyone could build and own something like this.

This plaque on a wall of the house may indicate that this was once, but after this place no longer belonged to the Queen, a sort of headquarters of an institution, of culture perhaps.

I don't know who this gentleman in the bas-relief was because I don't know Bulgarian... maybe a Bulgarian friend could tell me. What is certain is that this gentleman was born in the same year that the construction of the Castle started!
This plaque seems to be very well done.

I love the architecture of this villa, a mix of classics with both Mediterranean and Bulgarian, and even Romanian influences!

I love the inner courtyard, a meeting place for all those hosted here.

A place that particularly suits young people. Every time I passed by this place I saw many young people in this courtyard and I think they were young artists, writers, or painters.
One element that is seen everywhere in this garden are the channels through which water flows. Only in the inner courtyard of this house, these channels are without water, there are placed colored stones.

At the time when the Queen lived in the Castle, this villa, called Villa "The Suite" was inhabited by the Queen's attendant and part of the suite.

Something even more beautiful than this building is the garden nearby. The many small gardens that together form the great Queen Mary Garden are different from each other. This one here has water and conifers as its main element.

Many canals, smaller or larger and small ponds, very small ponds, where the water gives a sense of tranquility, complemented by the shade of various species of conifers.

The water lilies and turtles complete the picture. The slowness in the movement of the turtles and the way they sit to receive the warmth of the sun seems to invite imitation and relaxation.

The Queen chose to buy the hills on which she built her summer residence because there were many springs there. These springs are the source of the water that flows through all the canals in the gardens. Fresh water is an important element in these gardens bordered by the salty waters of the Black Sea. Their permanent flow reminds us all of the flow of our time, of life that has only one direction...

On one side, an exit to another garden. Here we stop, leaving this walk for another time.

Although this post seems more like a travel post, or a walk, it still has the commercial aspect that allows it to be integrated into the #marketfriday category. Not because today is Friday, it's not enough.

The fact that I paid to visit this complex which is the main attraction of this small town in Bulgaria gives me permission to write about this community as well.

Over the years I have visited this complex dozens of times. The place consists of two parts: Queen Mary's Castle and its gardens plus the Botanical Garden. In past years I could choose what I wanted to visit and buy a ticket just for that one site. In recent years it has not been possible in this way. It is compulsory to buy a ticket for both places, even if you only want to visit one of them. This is because there is no separation between them and it is more difficult to keep efficient surveillance to keep out those who have not bought a ticket. Moreover, there is another reason. The two places belong to different entities: the castle belongs to the city of Balchik and the botanical garden belongs to the University, I don't know which university, in Varna or Sofia.

The ticket for the Botanical Garden costs 15 leva and the visit to the castle costs 7 leva. In total 22 leva. As 1 leva = 0.50 euro, the cost (roughly the same in Euro and USD) is 11! For a full-day visit.

I think I can now say that I have pretty much told you all about a small part of this wonderful place, the Castle of Queen Mary of Romania, located in Balchik, Bulgaria.

For an ending as we are used to on #marketfriday, all we need is one more flower, #alwaysaflower, also following the example given by @dswigle. A flower from the rose garden, another beauty created by the Queen.

For #MarketFriday by @dswigle!

Wandering around ponds under shade of trees, well worth the ticket price to see this establishments architecture and design.

Mention of fitting into more than one community is so true with many bloggers criss-crossing in topics that inter-relate.

Sometimes paying entry helps to keep a place clean, neat and tidy in both gardens and buildings enabling people to earn a living.

You're absolutely right, I noticed that too.

I think neither one of us minds, I think I speak confidently about JJ as I do myself. I really like the term and meaning of bridging the posts together. That was a really nice idea and I think it works so well, especially here. Thank you!

I don't think Magda is thinking about being queen, for she is already the Queen of her own family, yes? But, for the purpose of the story, I know what you mean. :) What a beautiful view from there, this definitely belonged to the royal family. I really like these small little guesthouses. That is what I call them, something that could have been a house, but, smaller than a regular hotel.

A guest house (also a guesthouse) is a kind of lodging. In some parts of the world (such as the Caribbean), guest houses are a type of inexpensive hotel-like lodging. In others, it is a private home that has been converted for the exclusive use of lodging.

I actually prefer these little places, they are so much more personal and normally I have a much better stay and really enjoy the flavor of the country. I love the inner courtyards built like this. It has always been a dream to build one. It is such a lovely way to enjoy the family and it feels so very personal and safe. I'm not sure why I said safe, but, they have always given me an extra feeling of safety when I have seen one. Perhaps personal space is a better way of saying it. Anyway, when the children were young, I felt like it was an ideal build, now, I still love it, but, I don't need it. I wouldn't fight it if I saw one I liked. I would buy it!

How lovely are those gardens! I can imagine toiling in them for days at a time. The flow of the water gives way to that peace and tranquility we all look for. I truly love the stone stairs, giving such a beautiful character to the garden. It is such a lovely post, Dan. I love that you take the time for all to feel the beauty and grasp the meaning. Thank you. That was a worthy ticket to purchase! Of course, the rose was splendid and the perfect ending to the post! #alwaysaflower

Their permanent flow reminds us all of the flow of our time, of life that has only one direction...

Always so meaningful, that is why I read your words over and over, so as not to miss anything. Thank you always, Dan! @bluemoon I am sure you dropped your link! :)

Thank you for participating in #MarketFriday! I appreciate the time and effort that goes into putting a post together for the challenge. It is with great pleasure that I read through and realize how much we have all tried to include things in our world that may be unique to the area. I have learned so much about the different cultures of the world, especially the small things that go unnoticed except by those looking for them. Life is interesting, wherever you are, whatever you are doing. I hope the week has found you healthy and happy, as we all look to prosper in our way of life.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? Was it expensive or cheap? Did it go up or down? Please do not post 30 pictures with no words about them.Do not use pictures more than once in a post!
  3. Post the pictures. Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post, it is too difficult to guess on some
    4. #MarketFriday must be your first tag.
Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post (#hive-196308) This is not required but appreciated.
    5. PLEASE Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it!!
  4. Following me and reblogging the post would be appreciated, but not a rule, more vision for more views on the #MarketFriday posts!
    7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post.
As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!

Thanks, I was sure you didn't mind these ideas of mine.
Guest house, yes, that's the right name.

I read your words over and over, so as not to miss anything. Thank you always, Dan!

Nothing could be said nicer here, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sometimes, when it's late at night, I write and I'm tired, I'm tempted to be superficial, but then I think that you read everything carefully, so I make every effort to be as good as possible.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend and great weather!

God, what a comment you wrote! If you put some photos in it, it would be a gorgeous post.

Don't be silly! Sometimes, I fall asleep while I am writing #MarketFriday late into the night. I am tempted and probably succeed in writing superficial! Never worry about me. I understand and superficial isn't bad.

You are just a perfectionist. :)

Thank you! It was beautiful out today. Went hiking, leaf peeking, and visited a Meadery. Then a short visit to an apple cider farm.

I should be able to use a few of those pictures! :)

Wonderful bridge between these two communities @bluemoon 😁
They go so well together.

What lovely to see more of this garden and the structures in it. It looks stunning. Great views.
And the villa looks nice. For spending some time.
Have a great day further!

Another amazing post about Balchik and the palace.
The bas-relief belongs to a writer whose ashes were spread there.

Thanks twice!
Obviously, you, who has been a guide, have seen Balchik many times, it is also so close to your home.
I manage about twice a year to go there, I feel at home and because of that, I don't feel the need to go to another part of beautiful Bulgaria.
I'm glad I communicated, hope it's all good for you!

What I liked to see most is the turtles. It is great that they have a living space there. This scene which I saw last was in my childhood.
