Earth's Beauties

At this moment, when spring already looks like summer, one thing cannot be ignored. Flowers! These beauties of the earth. These facts of water, earth, sun, and air. I used to say they were independent of man, but not anymore.

We, humans, enchanted by beauty, make the work of caring for flowers an activity that is not always easy, but very rewarding.

Dahlia is the national flower of Mexico.

When I say flowers I mean all decorative plants, whether they bloom or not. A place where flowers are best cared for is called a botanical garden and in every country, there are a few, usually in larger cities.

The biggest city doesn't need to have the biggest or most beautiful botanical garden. An example is the country I live in, Romania, where the biggest and most beautiful botanical garden is in Iasi, then in Cluj and maybe there are even a few more that are above the one in Bucharest, the city where I live and which is the capital of the country.

The flowers you see here are from the botanical garden in Iasi. In my opinion, this is the most beautiful botanical garden in Romania. I wrote a bit about it yesterday and you can see some pictures here: Garden Of Wonders, Garden Of Memories

These flowers are dahlias. Dahlias are native to Mexico and Central America and prefer a warm climate. It doesn't survive the cold winters in my country. For this reason in autumn, the roots (tubers) must be removed and kept in a frost-free place. In spring these tubers are planted in the garden and you can already see that it takes quite a lot of work to have these wonderful flowers in front of us.

Verbena bonariensis

Another particularly decorative perennial plant that delights our eyes and also feeds other small creatures.

Impatiens

This flower is called Impatiens because it is eager to spread its seeds. At the slightest touch its fruit breaks and drops the seeds. In Romania, it is called a 'house spore'.

The botanical garden is like a plant library. There are thousands of plants on display for visitors to see. It is the best and easiest place to see the most beautiful flowers.

The botanical garden is the best place to photograph. The vast majority of subjects sit still in front of the camera. It's not even breathing, haha...

Stunning your photos of Dahlia! 🙌
I didn't know it was native to Mexico (until now 😉)

I didn't know either until now. I can tell you something else interesting. The Aztecs ate the tubers of these flowers.
Europeans didn't appreciate the taste and didn't eat them.

You have some great flower photos here.

The second is my favorite. I love the color and your photo caught every stripe of the multiple colors of the petals and every soft curl.

The dahlia is one of my favourite flowers. Today your post reminded me of when I lived in Argentina, I had a lot of dahlias and verbenas, they gave so much colour to the garden....

Very nice memories came to me. Thank you for these fantastic pictures. I love flowers!😍

That's what I'm most happy about, that you remembered your flowers from Argentina.
